Now thats making um lazy

At the meeting tonight the eloquent John Duffy told us our lads know they played badly against Fev and are anxious to make amends.

Trevor told us the general manager has been appointed and is the New Zealand guy who made an appearance at our first fans forum.

He was given a cheque by LISA made out to the club for £20 000.

Anyone who supports us must know why joining LISA (if you can afford it) makes sense.



Oh about 95 away season ticket holders took advantage of our offer against Batley and included fans of Wigan Wire and surprisingly Hull FC.

The offer has been withdrawn because apart from Fev no Championship club would reciprocate. A big mistake in my view.

Did he say when he would be here?.

I completely agree frank.

Tbh I can't remember but I think he is here already and half his salary will be paid by the LSV.

He will have no imput into coaching however. Well that does not of course mean that he and PR might will never discuss coaching issues if they want too.

He arrives on Sunday and will be at next Lisa meeting.

Frank we gave um a cheque for £5000 but it makes £20000 this season so far.
LISA have accepted the club's offer of a share and a seat on the board, myself and Keith the chairman are the only members to apply and we are both willing to share the responsilbity.

After a week of doom and gloom things are looking up again. Paul and his crew can now totaly look after the on field stuff and leave the other things to our new man.

A very well done to the club for at last moving in the transparency direction and LISA for raising such a great amount so soon in the season.

I am against the board position but its not my choice - I will be rejoining LISA as a result but will not be attending meetings etc.

Thanks Maurice and can I just say that the more members we have the less chance of the club getting into more finiance(sp) problems.

Control silly costs and maximise income is the only way forward - having financial transparency by right allows the shocks to be managed proactively.

'The Books' can only be seen at the board meeting/s they are discussed at, that is written in the articles of the club directorship apparently.

I understand that a shareholder has legal rights that provide annual accounts at least, but I am sure Toadstool will confirm the position.

I don't know what percentage the LISA shareholding represents as there are additional rights as this increases but the basic rights of every shareholder include -

The right to ask the court to call a General Meeting - CA 2006, s 306

The right not to be unfairly prejudiced - CA 2006, s 994

The right to have the company wound up provided that it is just and equitable to do so

The right to vote - CA 2006, s 284

The right to receive notice of general meetings - CA 2006, s 310

The right to a dividend if one is declared (NB - Directors have power (but are not obliged to) declare a dividend. Members cannot vote to pay themselves more than the directors have recommended) - Model Articles, Article 30

The right to a share certificate (NB - This right Depends on the Articles of the company) - CA 2006, s 769

The right to have his name entered on the Register of Members - CA 2006, s 113

The right to a copy of the Annual Accounts - CA 2006, s 431

The right to an AGM (NB - ONLY IF IN ARTICLES)

The right to inspect Minutes of General Meetings - CA 2006, ss 248, 355 & 358

The right to inspect the register of members and index of members' names without charge - CA 2006, s 116(1)(a)

However the more members we get the stronger the club becomes.Memberships can be £5 a month or whtaever you like, some pay £30 a month.

I don't know who is the webmaster for LISA but the link for corporate membership forms on the LISA site is playing up!

Why laugh when somebody takes the time to inform folk of the minimum rights?

I would imagine Lisa's holding to be 10% or so?? Certainly above 5%.
