Quote ="maurice"We could do with one of them Wire DC centres, that Fax lad, Saltenstall??, or Mendieka specifically.
I too am somewhat concerned about injuries, especially after Penky's attempts to get our props killed in the 2nd half.
I think we took a gamble with some players injuries and it may not be working. Cannot understand what the clubs best 9 was doing tonight, we could have done with him on the paddock.
Awful conditions, just hope the knocks are not too serious. =#FF0000Reminded me v Widnes in 81/2'"

Leigh V Widnes
December 13, Won 18 – 5
If Widnes were dubbed the cup kings then Leigh deserve the title of snow kings, ignoring the Siberian-style blizzards they produced a magnificent spectacle of flowing rugby to claim one of the most important victories of the season.
But the match might never have taken place but for a small army of volunteers who cleared seven inches of snow from the Hilton Park and terraces on the morning of the match.
The only sad thing was a meagre crowd of 2553 braved the awful weather but those brave souls who did turn up had a thriller to keep away the shivers.
Top Australian referee Greg Hartley summed it all up perfectly when he said “The conditions were dreadful but the rugby was tip-top stuff and all the players earned my respect.”
Just for the record the Leigh scoring heroes were Martyn, Wilkinson, Green and Tabern with Woods managing three goals.
