Quote ="Mr Northstander"I didn't attend the fans forum but recently watched it online.
I am a little confused or has the club had a lottery win?
On the 16th August Keith Freer posted a statement as he could not attend the forum on the 15th. In that staement and at the fans forum we learned that we were nearly £90K into our overdraft and owed £9K to the tax man.
It also stated that attendances have fallen into the region of 1500, blamed everything else like the recession etc but not moving games from Sunday to Friday. But he still predicted we would break even.
After listening to last weeks forum Keith Freer stated we had made a small loss of £20K! Fantastic you might think but when and how did the club clear the overdraft and tax bill? Or is it as I expect we still have a large overdraft? Does anybody know?
I suspect we still have the overdraft and the club is going to use the £90K from the RFL to pay it off.
=#FF0000Overdraft still there. The loss is purely on 2012 trading. The club will not attempt to pay off the overdraft in one fell swoop - otherwise the bank might withdraw the facility.
I also understand Keith Freer is basing next years financial budget on attendences of 1700 and not 1500 that we averaged last season, that included a fantastic cup run, both in the challenge cup and NRC and a semi final place in the play offs.
=#FF0000Keith stated, in answer to just that question, that next year's budget is based on crowds of 1,700. If we improve on that, the projections for 2013 should be even better.
How are these realistic figures given past performance of setting the budget?
=#FF00002012 budget was actually based on average attendances, over the past few seasons, not on 2011. So the projection was reasonable, given the basis for estimating. Crowds in 2012, however, were disappointng, but did average over 1,700..
I don't want this post to be seen as negative but dont want everybody to think the club is out of financial difficulties, I firmly we are far from that and the club is going to need every penny it can lay its hands on. =#FF0000I too think that, whilst things are looking optimistic, we need to maximise our earning potential to the limit.
