I have set up something similar in the past with consolodating several business's energy bill into one, saving quite a bit. your idea Maurice is great, I always admire thinking "outside the box" I constantly encourage my staff to do just that. No idea should ever be knocked down.
We at Rovers were led to beleive that everytime you use teamcard that you earn yourself points as in a loyality card and the club money also.
Im sure someone from Leigh could get in touch with them and ask what the pros and cons are ?
I used my Bradford Bulls one on ebay and racked up over £18 which then meant a couple of kids tickets buckshe when we played at odsal.
Must admit i hardly ever use my rovers teamcard mind.
On a bit of a diffo angle,once you get past stage 1 in a month or so how about setting up a players sponsorship from members offa here ?
Raise say £1000 and sponsor a player for next year ?
The Leigh RLFans forum has a nice ring to it for announcements.
Over on our unoffical message board we have sponsored Ben Cockayne for the last 6 years and collected over £7,000 i think it is.
This last year just under 100 forum users contributed between 10-100 pound and it was £1500 i think for Bens sponsorship.
All you need is one person to organise and a paypal account for payments online and your off.Fans can also send cash,cheques or just pay the said person.
Waky on rlfans did one this year and raised over £1000 in a month if i remember right.
Once you get to rock bottom the world really is your oystar and stuff rolls on and on.
Messageboard t shirts with users names on that contribute sell well also.
The message board already sponsor a player Peter (Adam Higson this past season) but the figures aren't anywhere near as expensive if memory serves me right!
