| One of the problems we have is we very rarely land on our front in the tackle. When we do we're good, but we often end up turned on our back. But never do that to rnd opposition.
Also outgunned by a pack lacking Houghton, Ellis and Watts.
Middle 8s loom.
Can't wait for next week against Saints lacking thing only sparks in the team in Hill and Ratchford

I agree, but still cannot see Simon M ditching TS. Like to be proved wrong, but just can't see it happening.

Patton has played plenty of first team rugby now and is still miles away from being a consistent player with any kind of ability to take a game by the scruff of it's nexk and dominate. At the moment he looks like another Myler and O' Brien and they never kicked on did they?'"
browns had 1 good game against brisbane as they all did dec patton did more in the 1st half v leeds than brown as all season in super league,im willing to stick with young dec than brown..give youth its chance if they make mistakes hen the older player is there to guide them..would you want any guidance off brown..

Putting a decent centre inside Russell would help, agree with Gids a season too far

| Take it from a Hull fan, if Smith goes you'd likely end up with Agar taking over. That is one thing you CERTAINLY don't want.

| We're not that far off from getting it right, yeah I agree the Grand Final horse has bolted due to our poor star. But a spot in the super 8s and a good run un the CC won't be that bad. To win away at hull tonight was a little optimistic!

| I want Patton as our half. However, what I saw tonight from him was way off, that isn't something he can put right playing SL against big teams.
I would not play him vs Saints after that.
There is too much in his game he needs to work on.
He needs to show fight and want to be the best half and a leader. In the last two games...yes coinciding with Browns return, he is a bridesmaid.
You don't play humble pie because the more senior player has returned. You up your game even more.

A little bit harsh on Hull. Most Hull fans are praising our performance tonight as one of our best showings this season. Hard to find a weak link in our 17 tonight. And thats with Talanoa, Houghton, Bowden, Watts, Ellis out, and three youngsters with little experience (Turgut, Downs and the excellent Fash) on the bench.

| Patton was only saved from anonymity tonight by his errors. Brown wasn't great but was far, far better. Nevertheless, we got a lesson in converting your chances and make the most of errors. At least the play the ball errors were massively reduced he says, clutching at straws.....

| You didn't copy my acknowledgement that the GF horse had bolted? Let's be realistic here a couple of games in the Super 8s and a good run in the CC could turn a potentially bad season into a half decent one with the players we have.

Yes I'm sure Salford and cats are unhapppy to have them in their team
Experience is gained by a consistant run of games, Patton was guilty of pushing it and taking too many risks trying to force things too hard lay on, but he recognised we needed to do or try something whilst rest of team seeed happy to go thru the motions. our biggest problem is we don't really have a partner he works well with I thin ratchford would take some of the ball running duties from him.
This dip in form for him will also be an experiance we need to see a response from him against stains and a good run of performances.
The positives this season for me are
Patton has gotten game time on the whole has held his own and we have been at our best when he is in the team consistancey is now key
Savellio seems to be putting in the effort and is for me a better option in te back row than jack Hughes on current form.
Philbin is starting to look like a prop
Ratchford it's hard to take him from the full back spot over last few seasons his position was debated I think home is now our first choice fb for better or worse
Lineham lacking the try scoring opportunities but his commitment and general effort in games has improved ten fold he chases back when others give up looks to take the ball in early and his defensive ability is improving and he is now generally safe under the high ball
The negatives are too long to list !!!
It's just so frustrating to watch us play at the moment which if we're winning can look to the positives of winning when playing poorly but I think that thinking flatters us and is only applicable if the poor performances are on occasion where the team is generally playing well!!

| Patton is too slow to ever be anything other than ordinary...too slow both Physically and mentally. He is however, much quicker than old Mother Brown and Old Man Gidley.

| I disagree to a point. A constant run of games that are not above his depth. Patton was way out of it tonight. Games vs Saints and Pies will most likely be counter productive in his development and may cause him setbacks that put him back...that is what I've seen tonight. He backed himself into the shadow of Brown, almost like hie purposely didn't want to out play him.

| I think we bought the wrong Widnes back.
What we need here is a back that wants to run forward and attack the line like Nat Wood would do...we ought to had signed Mellor.
