Apart from in SL when he rested Hodgson he played Bridge there.

With the u20s only having one game (Saints at Wilderspool on Sat Ithink - although not on website fixture list: Walter?) between now and the 9th of July it makes good sense.

Presume this means no problems with Hodgson's back injury. What's happened to Hodgson being "managed" through the season? Did anybody really believe that when it was said?

I certianly didn't. Can't believe some people actually did. Why would Smith let a former MOS, who IMO is the best all round fullback in the competetion bar non, sit on the bench for the lesser type of games. Not a chance.

Shame Riles isn't getting near this year but he'll be better off playing super league rugby rather than u20s. Good move for him to get playing again and then he'll e ready for us as and when he is required (obviously after a month)

As for those saying he is following Penny, he is more steady player than Penny and coming 2nd try scorer means he is SL class.

He will get his chance again when Kingy goes and joel moves inside. Him and the two rhys' can battle it out

he never played there when King was injured earlier in the season.

If King moves on, next season i would expect to see Bridge and Atkins at centre.... backed up by Blythe & Evans.... also if the rumours of ratchford turn out to be correct, there's another player who can feature at centre if required.

Got a point but he had a good season last year so can't understand why he has all of a sudden been placed so far down the order. I know hes suspect under a high ball.

No, if you remember rightly I was moaning about you paying him off, suggesting it was off the cap and very naughty and Wigan-esque as you were no doubt paying him off to sign someone else.

When it was pointed out that it's fine to pay someone's contract up and release them off the cap as long as they've not played that season I acknowledged that and agreed it was okay.

You are correct PY; the Under 20s play St. Helens this Saturday in a re-arranged fixture that was postponed earlier in the seaon when we should have played it as the curtain raiser at Widnes.

That game is now on w/e 23rd July at Thatto Heath and the game on Saturday is at Wilderspool.

We then don't have an Under 20s league fixture until Huddersfield on 9th July although we will have the 9s tournament on a Tuesday evening during June.

Riley is a good player but have always thought that Tony didnt like him. Far better player than Penny was though, can actually tell hes played rugby all his life, pretty reliable and decent decision making usually.

Shame but not a huge shock.
