| So people who wants Briers gone next year. Who are we going to have as halfbacks?
Bridge and Grix?
Monas?
Myler and who??
all those recognised half backs...
We may as well write off next year if we get rid of Briers.

| Quote ="Rob Wire"Lee Briers is one of them enigmas, he is top class on his day but he can have them moments where the ref bares the brunt of his frustrations, during his Warrington career he has been everything thats both good and bad about the club.
Positives: He is almost untouchable on his day with a great kicking game, he can make something happen out of nothing. Were a tough team to beat when Lee Briers is on a going day.
Negatives: His age, his ongoing hamstring problem that has never really gone away and it won`t get any better at the age he is. In past years he has gone missing in games when were up against it, his temperament is questionable at times which can result in him constantly having a go at the ref. His defence is poor as we know.
Would i like to see him offered a new contract, i would have to say no as the negatives outweigh the positives for me especially with his age and hamstring problems, i would like to see us try a new direction, out with the old and in with the new so to speak.'"
to be fair his defence has picked up alot.
i dont want him to go. him and myler would be awsome.

Why?
Myler and Monaghan sounds like a half decent partnership to me. One full of energy and enthusiasm partnering an experienced pro with shed loads of experience the former can learn from.

the only good thing in monaghans game is his defence,
in attack hes clueless, stray pesses a plenty, looks lost with ball in hand.

We'd have two halfbacks whose handling skills aren't the greatest, Briers and Monas would be one of the best in SL.

No they wont....How long is it before you understand that Briers aint a stand-off, he doesn't and never has had the pace to be.
You either play Briers or Myler but not together.

Why? Briers being the creative one and Myler being the one who can attack the line, they'd be fine together.

Ok, then that means we buying a scrum-half to play at stand-off....haven't we done enough buying a player to play in a different position over god knows how many years?
We bought 3 hookers to play scrum-half over the last decade and how much good has that done us?

Ok put Briers at 7 but then you must use Bridge or Grix, Myler does not have the frame and strength to play stand-off.

Clarke would never wear a 9 shirt for the rest of his career if i had my way. He's ok at the rear of a scrum.
Higham will either start or play impact hooker with monas. i don't matter too much which starts and which plays impact.

| Thr real enigma is that Briers has never had the luxury of playing behind a consistently dominant pack, until now. Unfortunately for him, it has arrived too late taking into account his age and hamstrings.
In life, timing is everything, and Lee has been unlucky in that respect.

| 6 and 7 are more or less the same nowadays, Briers and Myler would be fine together, one being a runner and one beaing creative.

Tony he aint.
He moved there to accomodate Langer...and the proof....we have had the two best scrum-halfs in Oz(Langer and Johns) playing inside the best scrum-half in the UK and we still couldn't get to a final.

Harsh or true?
I never said I wouldn't play him at all....just not taking the ball in the acting half-back postion. he is simply too dam slow.
