Not sure there will be any fans left in 20 years time if the officials at last nights game have anything to do with it, what an embarrassment.

Strange game & result last ,strange season throughout superleague ,refs resigning all over the place, it makes you wonder if there are some strange external influences at work on our game.

Had the ref not completely missed Ratchford's try we'd of had another 4 or 6 points and London wouldn't have scored 3 tries at the end. Swings and roundabouts.

Also the Jack Hughes 'knock on' in the build up to Hiku's try that some people were crying about - if the ball had been in the in-goal area it would probably have been awarded as a try due to 'fingertip pressure' on the ball such is the inconsistency of the application of the rules

Outcoached, out played for parts, out enthused by a bunch of part timers ..... bloomin marvellous. Can't wait for the next thrilling instalment.

Mucho plaudits to London for a terrific effort although that Dixon chap is a bit of a pillock and I don't know if his previous dubious behaviour in the game did him no favours following that idiotic tackle by Atkins in the dying seconds of the game

fantastic game management from K Brown.....3 mins to go, deep in the opposition half, 8 points up....I know I'll do a banana kick into the middle of the pitch and they can score from it....Dixon made Lineham look like a traffic cone set in cement.

It was a strange game. I thought Sammut was outstanding, and their last tackle kicks for touch were also very good. Even better though was their enthusiasm and willingness to run and work hard. Finally, London simply never gave up, even when they were 20 points adrift and considering they are virtually out of running for 4/5th, it was great display of team work and playing for the fans and coach.

In contrast, we lack that enthusiasm and willingness to run that teams like Cas and London seem to take for granted when they get onto the pitch. It's interesting to watch Gidley and the way he goes about his job. He is far too slow now and of course he is retiring at the end of the season, but still puts in 100% effort. We don't seem to have players (in general) that display the sort of professionalism that he does. Every game he plays seems to matter to him.
Our error count in the first half was far too high. I would have to watch the match again, but I think Morgan Smith had a shocker in defence and was probably responsible for two tries. And of course several other players chipped in with errors as well, even Hiku managed a poorly timed offload. Defence in general was very poor as you could have inferred from the scoreline, and the officiating wasn't great either - although the ref seemed to be fairly even handed with both sides when it came to his errors.

Everybody will probably see the game differently, but for me, London put on an excellent display and it would be disrespectful not to recognise the fact. Our problem I think lies mainly in the players attitude and approach to the match, which simply isn't professional enough. Add to that a weakness in certain positions and the need for more coached moves, and I think you would end up with the result that we saw on the night. In the background, I still think we have a coach that is moving on at the end of the season, and that doesn't help in providing the necessary leadership.

Excellent post Offload. I know Gidley is pretty much knackered now but we are still a much better outfit with him on the pitch. When he went off we pretty much collapsed again and almost lost the game. You might say London pretty much played to their max and we certainly did not and have not for most of the season. We desperately need a dominant creative halfback. On paper the team is decent so in theory it is a tweak not necessarily a revolution that is required. I will always carry fond memories of the Smith years buy the time has come for a change in my view.

Agree with your 'coached moves' sentiment. What has frustrated me most is the lack of ideas when in the opposing 20. I know when Smith had Briers and Monas you could just say "play what is front of you" but with this lot surely they should have a set of patterns to fall back on or at least use as a basis for a move but apart from the kick and hope we are absolutely clueless. What do they practice in training ??

We are. The type of people who are invited to these forums are the ones on Facebook saying that "Smith needs to be given time to build a team".

Sorry to say your wrong on this one,I'm not of the face book crowd and I was invited to said meeting,tbh was surprised to be invited as I did make a sarcastic comment as to how the people would be invited.

When you look at recent results against Championship teams the Wire look as if they have the attitude of doing just enough to win with repeated lapses of effort in between & last night the wheels could easily have come off the wagon. If the shower take their eye off the ball next week & come a cropper with Leigh,they may not find our next 2 Championship opponents as easy to come back against.

Questions were asked about how poor we have been yes. As for singling people out No that did not happen and in fairness it didn't need to be, people from the club will no doubtlessly look at these forums and see the unhappiness of a lot of fans. The meeting was about trying to find positives and what is going to happen going forward to improve things. There is a page on club website about the last meeting.

I said it when Broomhead said it and I'll say it now, finding positives is losers talk. Winners constantly try to improve, they dont look at a pile of poop and comment on the lovely irredesent colours of the bluebottles!

I'm going to catch Karl before a game coming up under the statute to ask, mostly, about his thoughts on Smith's comments about players deserving or being entitled to be flat and if that's something I'm expected to pay for, especially when they obviously haven't been putting effort in all year?

I really hope you get to ask that,I'm pretty sure a lot of people would like to ask the same question, and I agree with you I've said the same on here somewhere,it's poor for a man in his position to come out with those comments, and yes he probably is under pressure before the Smith defenders come out, but it is still wrong.

We all knew that Atkins was merely just a fat useless grub that tackle proved it. One can only hope that karma was watching

Glad london gave you a decent game, but I do think it's a another nail in the coffin for smith, he looks a broken man.
I am a london fan, so see things through the broncos shades, but think the penalty in touch not in touch was the right call by the touchy. The other 50/50 calls balanced themselves out.
Hope the journey back up north was not to much of a pain.

I enjoyed it. The experience of a small ground, not the actual game. You were unlucky. Have been all of the 8's. Best championship iv seen yet. You can be counting yourselves very unlucky to be only on 1 point. All the best for the rest of the year!!

As for the t1t that threw his can on the pitch, that put 20 mins on my queing time for ale so thanks for that. They were handing cans out, no hassle, then when he did that we were then pouring cans into plastic glasses!!

Overall enjoyed a different venue, all the staff were friendly, seemed to enjoy the ground being relatively full (for the size).
