Michael Dobson would be a brilliant signing for us, he is exactly what we need at the moment, but i think he left Hull KR because he wanted to go home so i doubt we would be able to tempt him back over here..

All I can say about Dobson is he was a right pain in the backside whenever we played HKR, and was often the difference between the sides. Like Burrow, we never seemed able to suss him out.

On that basis I'd have him, but I have my doubts if it'll happen.

dobson has more scrum half in one leg than myler has in his whole body.

For me neither myler or ratchford are good enough to play half back in a top 4 side.
Myler- no influence on games, seldom takes on the line, terrible kicking game,all of which was hidden by Lee briers brilliance.
A poor mans danny McGuire IMO.
Ratchford-devastating in broken play,no real structure to his game, again poor kicking game,but has some x factor,which would serve him best in the centres.
I believe we need 2 new halfbacks before we grace old Trafford again.

I personally would go for Dobson and burns.Monaghan and Waterhouse freeing up overseas quota for next year.

If Dobbo was brought in, we would have to pair him with Ratchford wouldn't we?

To be honest I'd like prefer to see Dobbo and Bridge at 7 and 6.

Where has all this "bridge is the saviour" come from, bridge is completely over rated, i can't remember the last time I came home from a game and thought "wow bridge played well". He certainly isn't the answer to our half back problems, his distribution is poor, his decision making is even worse, and he couldn't kick his way out of a wet paper bag

Indeed... never was a half back and has been an utter liability at times.

Dobson would be a patch... a very good one but not sure why he would be your choice for a rebuilding.

Dont think he would be part of rebuilding just steadying the ship for the rest of this season.

Bridge has been out of sorts and hampered by injuries but there is small improvement in him week after week.
Yes he does put a bit of a howler in there too but in general progression. Still some way off 2012 form.

It may well not turn out to be a good move, but you know, we have few options available to us right now and many of us have aired our views about questions over Ratchford and Myler not being the answer.

Without putting our hands in our pocket to buy our way out I'm trying to find a solution through debate and reason.

There are two points about him being better at this point of time than anyone else in our team....his place kicking ability and his ball handling skills, that you in you have right to rubbish if you wish.

With no options but to carry on the status quo, I'd be happy to throw him in at 6 for a while. He has a maturity that wasn't there under Cullen, and its not as if it's a risk as this season is too go by.

Dobson = panic buy and not the answer long term. We need to stick with what we`ve got for the rest of the season, then, if things dont improve , see whats available during the close season.

I Agree about Bridge's kicking skills.

It was only last year when we played Hull In the Semi. One of his "tactical" kicks led to an awesome try .

It was. Disaster and yet another couple of inches and it was game set match.

In all honesty you can't just blame Bridge for the semi final defeat.....that was the day many people realised how poor the team really were. If Bridge's kick had come off he would have been called world class.

I wasnt blaming him . The whole team were rubbish that day.

Im just pointing out his kicking capabilities are awesome

As you quite rightly point out.. Bridge has the kicking ability of Heather Mills.

As a goal kicker he probably rated 5/10 on a good day.

As a kicker with ball in hand, he would be lucky to rate a 2/10

I understand your apprehension but if we require field position if where defensively deep, I would like to see Bridge kick as opposed to Myler at present.
Mylers deep kicking game is poor at best at the moment. I would leave him with the short kicking game as Bridge wont be in a position for it.

Seriously I'd be the last person to actually slate bridge as a player but the fact he has to nearly stand still to kick in play would cause major issues

I dont know what % kick or missed Bridgey has but im fairly confident he's has a better record than 50% this season!

see, again i have to pick you up as being wrong, bridge's kicking game is shocking, he's visibly uncomfortable when kicking, and has only one kick which is this lofted backspin which is easy pickings for any wingers or full backs to get underneath and return.

Dont take it personal, its not personal, it just so happens that your bizarre revisionist view point on the career of Chris Bridge stands out quite noticeably and i feel i must call BS on.

And its not just you, we've had this with Padders on here as well. Who has called him rotten time after time after time, quite innaccurately as well.

If different things are not quite clicking ,such as field & tactical kicking you would expect it to improve with extra practice.
