| Surely once SuperLeague survival is guaranteed which we should do, then Smith must go and take Agar with him
He's presided over this demise and appears unable or unwilling to do anything about it, due to his total arrogance and refusal to accept his failings.
You could approach most NRL assistant coaches, just like Saints did an Holbrook.
But don't see Moran sacking his mate and Fitzpatrick won't sack a bloke who was his boss not long ago
The whole thing is a mess that needs strong and prompt action

Surely a contender for WUM of the season.
Either that, or you're Tony Smith's mum

You and I share a brain.
This has been my one constant complaint this year, it's amazing he hasn't been benched, reserved or sent to rochdale.
He hasn't got any better whatsoever, they've tried to let him play out his bad form and it's continued and even got worse. They've made things worse for the lad by not taking him out the firing line for his own good.
The Guardian article this week is so far off it's not funny.

The only positive about Hughes game is he is not bad defensively and hard for defenders to put down. Attack is terrible this season I've gone on about this for months.

| At Wakefield we had street parties when Agar resigned at belle Vue, just as the Hull fans held their own celebrations when he left the KC.
Tells its own story surely!!!
Having said that his replacement at Wakey James Webster was worse much worse
Anyway seems you are safe in super league next year so good luck in getting a better coaching team

| This week's excuse was, unsurprisingly, the iPitch. So I thought I would share this TS quote from the 2015 season.
Quote “They see it [the iPitch as a huge advantage but we’re not buying into that,” he said. “We train on a similar pitch indoors nowadays so I don’t know how much of an advantage it is.
“It certainly won’t be an excuse or an issue. We’re going over to play good rugby league, and if we do that it won’t matter what surface we’re playing on.'"

| Maguire ..... my memories of him at Wigan were boring rugby, niggling, spoiling, wrestling and messing about at the PTB ...... but successful. Yes I want to see us finally win a GF but I am not sure I want to watch that. Having said that do I want to watch tedious rugby and also be unsuccessful. What a conundrum.

| I know what you mean, me to in many respects but it won' t be long before people start harking back to the 2010-12 ish fabulous attacking side who were an absolute joy to watch and trying to get him sacked for not emulating that. Now that side deserved to win a GF and should have done

| The thing is that (most of) the players have the skill and ability.
It looks like this year they have not had the self discipline, motivation and mental toughness to perform.
Looking at last nights game, the Halifax game and the widnes cup game that the bulk of that group of players just about do enough. That is it "just about do enough" and that is not good enough.
Almost 12 months later i am still seething about the way we capitulated at home against wigan when we were 3 scores up against 12 men. I dont think madge would accept that and i dont think we would ever hear him say "its ok for the players to be a liittle flat simetimes".
The thing is though, i think maguire only has a limited shelf life with any team. From what i hear he asks a lot of the players in training and games and eventually it takes its toll. So i dont think he is one to build a 10 year dynasty at a club and as long as we go into this with that in the back of the mind i can take playing dull but successful for a couple of years.
One thing is for sure our defence will be a bit better to watch. I could have hit harder than most of the tackles we were putting in last night.
If Maguire is lined up there will be a few players not looking forward to pre season.

I hope this is true as it means Smith and Agar gone. The latest comments in the Guardian about us "having to work hard" to fix the problems. Have we not been hearing this since March? It's the same old problems.
London showed us what you can do with a) Effective Halfback pairing and b) Decent coaching even with part-time players.
Patton was completely out shone again.

Some same the same about Williams at Wigan, but my question is how long do you need to be consistent, your whole career? I've no idea. Yes players can have bad days but I don't see enough improvement in the next game often enough. We didn't get the best of Briers till Smith came along, well Patton as both Smith and Briers coaching should he not be a superstar by now, I'm just asking.

Also being confidently reported on an NRL TV show in the past hour that Maguire is going to Warrington.

| Why the excitement over Maguire? I want Smith out but the Rabbitohs finished 12th, that's why he's leaving.....as we know from Smith, what he did in the past counts for nothing.
A different solution for me please - someone who coaches entertaining rugby and won't put up with players not pulling their weight.

Talking of weight, right now I'd take Johnny Vegas over Smith,at least he showed passion making that advert.

| Yeah point taken so why don't we get him in for 2 years, win a title or two then we can go back to being entertained with a good year with no title, followed by a bad, followed by... and so on under a Smith style coach.

| I think many of us agree, a coach has a shelf life in rl. The game keeps evolving and few coach's seem to adjust. So the coaching style becomes compromised.
It's over for TS and Agar. They have fell by the wayside. Another season of them and we could well get further compromised in the Q8s.
I see keeping them a greater risk than better the devil you know.
They must go.
