I think so.... this hung parliament is Cleggs only chance to sell his soul for PR. The media will crucify him for it but it's his only realistic chance for a generation.
The tories could always partner with the nationalist fringe MP's who will doubtless want to rebuild Hadrians wall and Offas Dyke in return.

| Nice to see the Tories bleating about having the moral case for forming the next government.
If they can't get an overall majority after 13 years of Labour Government, the Iraq and Afghan wars, the worst recession in living memory, and 2 years of grizzly Gordon, one of the worst Prime Ministers in my opinion, then they deserve what they got.
See, not everybody fell for the shiny faced one and his supporters in the press-owning fraternity.
Let Gordon stand down as Labour leader, and allow David Milliband and Alan Johnson negotiate a progressive Lib/Lab government.

| Re PR
Maybe...
Tories and their supporters in the press would run a big "No" campaign on the basis that we'd have this uncertainty every time.

| Two things: Would Blair have won this election if he had still been PM? Secondly; If, as expected the final result leads to a hung Parliament, will the knives be out for Cameron due to the election he couldn't fail to win?

I think the Tories will stick with Dave. What else can they do?

I think we will see a return to the old Tories. The imitation slant has failed to work, in fact, I think they missed a trick in Ken Clarke not fronting them. Personally speaking, he inspires me to trust in what he says, there is a respectabilty about him.

| If Clarke had been Conservative leader they would have an overall majority by now.
He's been the most impressive Tory in the campaign for me, unlike Cameron he doesn't talk in vague ideas, Big Society, Broken Britain, Great Ignored and so on, he's one of the best politicians for being able to answer a question directly, concisely and making a hard hitting point, which means he is good at communicating directly to the public. He's also not constantly paranoid about what Conservative Central Office thinks of his comments, he knows he's got more experience than anybody else in the party and just says what he thinks.

| I beleive the 2 main parties have gone into the election with the wrong leaders. As Sally and GDMM say above, Ken Clarke has a good political gravitas about him, and was a decent Chancellor. I also think William Hague shot his bolt too early, when he became Tory leader in 97, at least 2 parliaments too soon. Very clever and an excellent debator. Loses out with the image of him at that Tory Coference with Maggie 30 years ago, and that piccy of him in the baseball cap on the log flume.
Labour miss out with Alan Johnson, again authoritve, and more gumption than the likes of Balls (there goes a man who lives up to his name) and the Milliband brothers, who look like they're just going into their 6th form Chemistry Prep lessons

| Considering that labour and LibDem appear unable to form a majority between them, then it seems only right for the Tories to form a coalition with Libs.

| Have the wards changed since I left Warrington then? I'm from Old Hall/Sankey and always thought it was Warrington North but if Bewsey and Whittle Hall are South then possibly not.
I've only ever voted in Manchester Withington (Lib Dem Held but I didn't vote for them) as I've lived here for most of my eligible to vote life.

| No chance Cameron! Offers the Lib Dems a "committee of enquiry" on electoral reform, i.e. it won't happen. How pathetic and old style politics.
