| I've been trying so hard to convince myself to get a new home shirt: growing on me, don't mind thrBFB sponser logo, don't look that bad etc - but I have to give in and admit its an expensive rag this time. Going to dig my old Bukta out ![THINK eusa_think.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//eusa_think.gif)

| Quote ="the flying biscuit"icon_biggrin.gifOH: no they almost certainly didnt instruct the manufacturer/supplier to make a sub standard kit...nor did i suggest they did anything of the sort...
its a fact though that this kit is not as good as the canterbury shirt yet it retails for more. now either the buyers have cocked up and the cost price was so high they have to charge £45 to make a reasonable profit.
or the cost price is the same or less than the Canterbury kits, and the product is of a poorer quality and the retail price is higher thereby profiting by charging top whack for a sub standard product.
I have no evidance of cost prices thats true but my allegation that a sub standard product in comparison to previous years is being flogged for top whack still stands....
had the reduction in quality been matched by a reduction in price i would be fine with that....'"
On the basis you don't know what you're talking about RE cost prices (as you've admitted), why accuse the club of deliberately trying to rip people off? You certainly suggested that when you said:-
Quote the club have seen an opportunity to make profit by selling substandard items at top whack'"
That's almost as silly as suggesting the club will receive a batch of shirts and say 'you know what, some people don't like cotton. Some may even call it a rag. I know, let's drop the RRP of these shirts accordingly'.
You have every right to your opinion on an item of clothing and to vote with your wallet. However, again, it's out of order to accuse the club of deliberately trying to rip supporters off.

| Has anyone seen the Leeds / Hull / Saints rep kits? As in - is it a Warrington decision to have a cotton and different style shirt as the "replica" or is it what ISC are doing across the board with all of their rep shirts?

| just out of interest popped into the leeds shop today, and their replica kit is a perfect example of what a replica should be, brilliant feel to it, sponsors all looked good and material was nice, shirt matched the players exactly aswell, also no extra price for the larger gentleman!
all that i can see being the difference in the situation is the clubs, our club has messed this up, because isc, are able to make good quality kits, and are doing for leeds, so why are we allowing them to make anything different for us?

| Just had a look while in ASDA, the shirt looks and feels cheap. Worth nowhere near £45.
At least when the club had the lower quality Halbro shirt for 1 of the Alfie years they gave it away free when a season ticket was bought. The club and ISC really need to question what they've done.
1st mistake is spoiling the designs with sponsors logos having backgrounds and the 2nd mistake is having that material.

| I've got no issue with sponsors logos or even a slight difference in material as long as the rep shirt looks the same as what the players wear. What irks me is the fact that the rep shirt this year is a completely different shirt! Appart from the magical appearance of a collar, the colours are very slightly different shades, and the stripes are also different.
Reminds me of the fake Utd shirts you see in thailand etc. It's red, has a Utd badge, sponsor on the front and Rooney on the back. But that's where the similarity ends.

Because that's the whole purpose of a replica shirt!

| The quality on the 2009 shirts that someone has posted a rave review of above was diabolical. Admittedly it's the away one posted and the home one I bought (a week before Wembley as it was a one off) so they MAY have been different, but nonetheless the fit was shocking (fairly tight body, huge arms and collar) and although I only wore it once I wouldn't have fancied it's chances of good longevity as it got a couple of bobbles in that time.
I'm too old now to care about new shirts every year, but I occassionally wear my 1993-95 home shirt to work as I'm a bad scruff and it's still in good nick (I wore it absolutely loads at the time) and fits okay despite me being 14 when I bought it and 30 now.
Bring back Ellgren!

So you can imagine your one of the players yourselves walking out to the pitch, pretending to score in the dying moments against Wigan, imagining your parents are proud as punch you made it pro?
I don't care what the material is like on the supporters jerseys. So long as its comfortable and of a reasonable design.

| If people don't mind if the design matches the actual shirt or not why do you buy a replica shirt at all, rather than, for example, a polo shirt which generally looks a lot better anyway and costs half the price?

I like the shirt.
It really is laughable how wound up some people are getting. It is still a Warrington shirt.

| It's because they're charging more than ever before for a shirt that is a supporters version. Yes don't give us the fit and technical features, we don't need those but don't give us a shirt that looks different to what the players wear along with lower quality all for a higher price.
It's only because I'm disappointed that the club and ISC aren't making the most of what can be a very lucrative opportunity for the club and ISC.
The poll on the official site asking what supporters are buying stands at;
Total Votes: 1086
Home Shirt : 411 (38%)
Neither shirts : 278 (26%)
Both shirts : 231 (21%)
Away Shirt : 166 (15%)

Yep already emailed the club - mainly about using the wrong images in the first place on the website - they were soon updated
Their main point is that they never say that the shirts are replicas ...... read into that what you will
