They should do.
Change our kick off to 6pm Saturday too, to avoid any dodgyness.

| Thedoc - I am a season ticket holder so they have already got my money!
Don't think my wife would be best pleased if I cancelled the holiday, would she?
It was more a plea to those who have only been to one match - Wembley - and those others that turned up on the Sunday.
First home game I have missed all season.

"TIT" in my estimation is someone who does'nt know anyone elses circumstances and jumps to conclusions, not everyone can go the game due to different things just coz u got a seson ticket that dose'nt make u special and if people want to go to go and support the team after winning a trophy after so many years you have'nt got the right to slag them off ....

| I'm coming and I'm coming mob-handed.
I can't make every game because of my work, but I deflect any accusations of glory-hunting for being at Wembley with having gone to see the Wire in Cas and T'Ellins, which I believe are the dictionary definition of 'unglorious'

I reckon I've got to 9 plus Wembley, and two friendlies (Wigan and Swinton). Wish I could get to more- might get a season ticket and just book off any relevant Fridays...
Still, I reckon a full house on Sunday, I really do.

In every Rugby League town across the country there are 'lapsed' fans, and casual fans (not like Des). The trick is getting these to turn up regularly, and marketing is required for this.
To illustrate the point, Wigan attracted around 19k Wigan fans to the Leeds game recently, yet only 12k last Friday. This was through effort and tapping into those lapesd fans.
At Wembley, we had 12 of us in our group. Only 2 of us are ST holders, and another couple attend as many matches as they can each year. I believe that all 12 had attended matches in the past, many on a regular basis, however people's priorities change. If a Wembley visit gets these back interested then that is good enough for me.
One of my sisters has already asked about season ticket prices, as se said she had forgotten how much she enjoyed watching the Rugby. She is looking to bring a friend too.
Not everybody can (or wants to) pay around £20 a match to watch Rugby, but anything that gets them along is good for me.

Sometimes you just need to get them in, show them a good time and hope they come back.
People still had to pay a tenner to get in, to go to the cinema it costs a lot less, yet people wouldn't go if they had no interest in the film that was showing.

It is but only it does put the marketing campaign into context (my word of the day it seems). You can spend a million marketing a game but if the price is wrong, they won't bother. Drop prices by 40% and surprise surprise, people show up.
I'm not criticising them by the way, far from it. I'm sure they did their sums and that it made sense. Wigan have done very well on crowds the last fews years and deserve applause for it, especially as their core support is relatively disaffected.

Part of the marketing campaign is the price, I agree. This is why I always disagree with people who think sticking a load of posters in pub windows will get people in.
For many fans, especially lapsed or casual fans, and especially in the current climate, there needs to be an incentive to attend, and price is always a key one there. People love a bargain.

Totally agree with that post.
All these; "I've been supporting Warrington for X years, I've got a season ticket, I'm great. Everyone else is a glory hunter because there are never 36,000 people outside the ground every other week trying to get in." posts makes me sick. Especially when they come from people who have only been watching Wire since Superleague started.

I second that. I have a season ticket and am aware that some people are unable to have a season ticket due to not having the initial outlay yet the go to the games. A season ticket is not the be all of supporting the team. All that said it would be nice to fill the ground on Sunday not only for the game but to say goodbye & thanks to a few of the players.
