Not to my knowledge, anywhere on this topic.

| I'd say the inference of the last line of your post at 12.24 is that you prefer Vinnie to Clarke.

People's opinions of Mathers are often harsh, Westwood is outstanding and Harrison is one of the most imporved players I've seen in a long long time.
Although I hope the above, bar Clarke, is aimed at other users than myself?

| Yes, it wasn't aimed at you. It was aimed at people who pick up on a particular trait of a particular player and then quote that years after it has ceased to be a particular trait for that particular player (if it ever was in the first place). My views on Higham might fall into that category. I've just about forgiven Monaghan his form after his first three matches right up until last April/May.

Not really. I think Vinnie's suited positions are largely covered by better players this season (SR, LF, SO etc). I do like Vinnie but he just doesn't really fit in at the moment.
And believe it or not, I'd prob edge towards Clarke over Vinnie anyway. Not over Higham though.

you are right of course... mathers is no longer dropping the high ball... instead he is waiting for it to bounce.

Yeah I think differing opinions on the whole Clarke/Higham thing is a long runner between us now. As for Monaghan, returning to his better position has helped loads I think. I was never entirely sure whether signing a player from the NRL who was regarded as one of the best, if not the best hooker at that time to play at SH was a shrewd move. Then again, hindsight is a wonderful thing isnt it!

It was an inadvertent insinuation. Not a deliberate comparison as you seem to believe.

| Who here would honestly be happy if Bridge was picked next Saturday then? Considering we all know he'd only play if he was ready.

| Wouldn't play him unless we have other injuries. Nobody deserves o be dropped.
Give him another week or two and have him fit for the play offs.

| Maybe excellent was a slight exaggeration. Though no idea where you pulled the 'two tries doesn't make him excellent' comment from. Of course it doesn't, same reason Riley isn't excellent, despite his impressive try count.
To be honest I didn't rate Clarke at all (based on 4 seasons of watching), and had no idea how he ever appeared in the GB team.
However, based on last two performances, when he has been good/very good I've changed my mind somewhat.
He offers a different dimension to Higham and Monaghan. Higham's passing is suspect, and even Monaghan is capable of a shocking pass, especially when he has to think about it too much.

| I have to say I am a supporter of Clarke but his defence since his comeback has looked somewhat shaky, he is often 'bumped off' in the collision. To counter, other aspects of his game look equal if not better than before his injury.

| To be fair Clarke has raised his game, since his injury. He has seen how other players have respond to TS,and he taken that on board and imo improved. For that reason he deserves his place in the 17.I got asked a question today, which was do you think we should sale Carvell and give Cooper more game time next season.Given that Carvell has return from injury like Clarke, and for me has not realy set the house on fire in his performances.Maybe it time to feel up some salary cap and give Cooper his turn.

You'll know the technical aspects of the game better than I do. Would that be because of his long time out? Either slightly off the pace or not going full into the collision? Or just technique needs retuning?

| I am not a huge fan of Clarke but even I will admit he deserves the jersey ahead of Higham for next week.
In closing Monaghan is what I would call an excellent hooker. To attach that adjective to Clarke is overly generous in my opinion. The pro-Clarke camp on here border on obsessed.
