I understand that poor stadiums don't help but HKR is ok and Hull is the best in the league for me. In my opinion, our bad form was a bigger factor.

because the expansion plans(if they're the same as what was mentioned last off season) were for sticking some more prawn sandwich boxes above the Primetime "gerroff the fooking yeller lines" sarf stand. Or something similar, certainly something where the dollah dollah bills are coming from rather than us plebs.

| The capacity is just over 13000, but for the big games there is room in the 3 home stands for about 9500 wire fans. That's not many when you look at the interest in Wembley and the semi. It also means that in the South stand where I go, it is fairly packed and not very comfortable.
What amazes me is how much room is lost by the tunnels. There are loads of them and they seem too big. Look at some pf the modern football grounds, they have far more in their stands but nowhere near the size and amount of our access tunnels.
Building the corners would make it more comfortable in the big games, and enable allwho wish to g, to do so, as well as adding to the atmosphere.

Players need to play upto the hooter, not the clock.
And time gets stopped by the referee so would cause confusion to both crowd and players. If you need the time, can just look at your watch/phone
Yeah, I hate the bulbs and other things that haven't been repaired/replaced.

Nah. Its ok. My point is that we would have taken far more to places like HKR if our form had been good and that the condition of certain grounds is not the major factor.

| I firmly believe on the back of last years success and if we get off to a good start to the season, with addition of the new signings. We will get far more attendances regularly over the 10,000. Also the price of matchday tickets needs to go down a few quid, then this idea of stadia expansion could materialise.

| I really hope this comes off. It'd be great for Warrington and the game in general. I fully expect Wire to be challenging along with Saints and Leeds for the top 3 next season and in games against the likes of Saints and Wigan you'd be looking at huge crowds if there was an availability for people to just walk up on the day without having to purchase tickets in advance. To have an 18k capacity would really help the club come play off time if you had home fixtures.
After the benefits it would bring Wire there are the benefits for the game in general. The ground could be used for more interntionals and semi finals which again would get higher attendances because people could decide last minute wheather to go or not.
A successful Wire side would help this to happen aswell as help you average 12-14,000 which is what i believe you could be looking at long term.

| I must admit I'm in the "let's start selling out the ground we've got now before we start worrying about increasing the capacity" camp.
However, in spite of that I would love the South West corner to be filled in creating one big curved terrace rather than two seperate stands. We could have "ground" season tickets again a la Wilderspool and I'd probably be inclined to stand in the corner part personally if the option was there.

| Is it worth it?
Remember Steve Ellas Beard post on the "Are we the new Wigan thread" and the cost implications of building the Whitbread / Boston Stand at Wigan.
Assuming that filling in the corners adds 4,000 to the capacity.
How many times would the capacity be reached, maybe 4 times maximum per season.
How many times have you sold it out at it's current capacity?
So at £20 per ticket (average with concessions) that's £80,000 per season.
What is the building cost, possibly £1million so it would take over 13 years to get the investment back.
How would it be funded?
It's a tough decision.

| Hence the reason thay said 5 years. so thay can see if we start contesting for the super league crown. if we finish out of the playoffs in the next couple of seasons then imo it wont happen but if we win the thing then thay will have to to fit all the band wagon in

What you forget though is it's more appealing to neutral games, internationals and other sports\events.

| If Warrington want to compete permanently in the top 4 of SL then this has to happen. A 13k capacity is simply not sufficient to allow this to happen. The will we won't we fill the stadium is irrelevant.

The stadium as a whole cost £8 million. As has been stated elsewhere, the ability to host Internationals amongst other things would be a revenue stream not currently available.

| And for the opposition fans who say we don't need to expand we could always put you in something like this and we would have a bit more capacity left over for us
Actually used at a stadium in Poland.

| Theres a plus and minus to having a bigger ground
Say your playing salford or celtic its very difficult to get the crowd going as the atmosphere is not there
but i think the two advantages outweigh that
you can put on big advertising campaign and lower priced tickets like wigan do (we usually get 1-2 20k+ gate each season) which means the atmosphere is always amazing
You have the chance to host internationals which raises the profile of the club itself
I think the gates of warrington will only rise if you continue success and that is not even close to being inevitable
