A one year deal makes sense considering the knee injuries he's had, I hope it works out well for both himself and the club.

Bit of a Duckie moment here but I mentioned this guy in a previous post a few months back, 26 I think used as a bench prop but as had dodgy knees. Guess a one year deal is a fair call.

This membership scheme seems to be on the ball, I just got a text from Mitch Dodds telling me he as signed a 1 year deal.

That'll cost him a bit from Australia.

He's pretty much Roy Asotasi but with a dodgy right knee, he had season ending ACL injury on his right knee in 2013, 2014 and he has damaged it again which could rule him out this season. But some average players in the NRL do make quality players over here so fingers crossed. What I mean by that is the style of play suits them rather then super league being easier then the NRL. So fingers crossed his knee holds up and finds his best form.

I assume we would have scouted him big time before signing him up. From what I've read that knee looks troublesome. Fingers crossed he works out for us.

Aaahhh fair play I thought he had done his ACL again, hopefully it will hold up over here. You never know he could turn out to be great so fingers crossed everyone. And I'm hoping Akuma ta'ai does sign with us, but with signing dodds does that mean our overseas Quota is now full?

Dodds hasnt even got here and hes already being touted as a waste of space.

That's dead now. I believe that he asked for more money than we thought he was worth.

Gutted with that, he would have been an awesome impact player for us. I was excited to see him with hill and Simms, but I guess panic buy Dodds will have to do.

Can't you let him pull on the shirt and see how he performs before criticising, I'm obviously not suggesting anything so radical as allowing him time to "bed in", but at least till the first knock on/injury/interview where he doesn't say his life ambition was to play for Wire and he's actually paying Simon Moran for the privilege (and breathe)!

Brisbane Broncos are doing pretty well and Dodds has played 17 games ,spell out with cartilage problem ,so seems like a top player to me , I take it wire have given medical and are satisfied, we wanted a hard hitting prop we've got one , be happy

Fair enough cap, it just annoys me that it does seem like he's a panic buy prop because there's no one else about. Seems like poor planning from our club. I've watched him for awhile and his attack is about on par with Asotasi, his defence is solid but lacks attack. Would have liked to see an impact prop like Akuma drive us forward but Dodds could be a bargain if his knee holds up fingers crossed.
