| Non fungible tokens are kind of like rare collectible trading cards.
If someone had a unique digital picture of John Woods modelling the 1987-88 Wire kit, would you be interested in paying money to own it? If yes, then its the same concept for this George Williams picture.
Some people will like the idea of having something collectable, and the selling point of NFTs is that they are unique and authorised as something which is one of a kind.
Now, there is a bit of emperor's new clothes about it, in that a lot of people will think "well who cares? its just a picture?" You can understand why having something like the jersey Les Boyd wore in the 1986 Premiership final would appeal to people as a "one of a kind" product, but a digital picture....even if it is one of a kind, will anybody really care? They are trying to create a market for NFTs hoping that this will be something people do collect in future, in the way they got into trading cards and autographs etc.

Only in a parallel metaverse though. And an evil parallel metaverse at that. I'll believe it when I see it... How did those kids in Stranger Things get in to the 'Upside Down'?

| It’s interesting how seeing your boyhood heroes brings a smile to your face, even though for the majority of the time we were “also rans”. I couldn’t wait for Sunday’s to come round.

The attraction of the Les Boyd jersey for me would be that it would fit me now, and at least I could wear it!!!!!

Didn't start watching until '93, but that shirt reminds me of one of my favourites of the super league era: 2005. Or maybe I'm just rose-tinted over the Johns thing. That season we looked awesome in attack, but dreadful in defence.

2005 is my favourite shirt aswell, bit nostalgic as that was the year i got in to Rugby league but i love the shirt and still have mine. I also loved the fit and material of the kits then. I don't like the weird static nylon type material they are made with now a days. Also i LOVED the away 2006 Shirt the all Blue with yellow collar. Made by Puma i think, again loved the material and fit of the shirt.
I will be getting our home kit for the new year, first kit i will have bought in years

Only Aussie ones as far as I can tell, and I think they’re a bit pricey. I picked up a retro 80s NSW origin jersey in Melbourne about 10 years ago. Even back then it was about £60. Proper heavyweight material though. Just wish I’d gone for the small as it looks too big on me and I don’t wear it anymore.

Yeah the 05 and 06 genesis made shirts were pretty substantial, for a nylon shirt, not just 2 pieces of sublimated print sewn together.

I've said it on here before, my most favourite shirt, in recent years was the cotton version of the 2012 away shirt, scarlett and black. It's amazing. It's still in good nick and I'd still be wearing it if I wasn't a fat person.
Other than that, the St George wcc shirt, love that design.

Possibly the only person on here getting smaller (I hope not for any bad reason).

Haha, no, thankfully not because of illness - just thought I'd better set an example to the kids! Wish I'd had the motivation to get fit years earlier as I feel much better for it.

| I'd like to buy one of the old hooped, long-sleeve shirts in tribute to the great teams of the 50s and 70s. I just fear that the average person on the street would mistakenly believe it was something I bought at the gift shop at Harry Potter World. Especially if I get the retro scarf to go with it:

I'm over 40, but as soon as I put on the little round glasses my baby face means I can pass for a 10-year-old. That, and also and my very immature behaviour...

“ You're young and good-looking and you're acting kind of tough….”
