| Well done Wire.
The control - particularly in the second half from Patten and Ratch - was first class.
The desire for the full 80 minutes was there. They certainly learnt from last week.
And it's that desire and concentration I want from them going forward.
Our bench may -supposedly - have been lightweight but they did more than a useful job, and TS's use of subs was far better than last week.
Next weeks squad is certainly up in the air.

| Play off football tonight. Complete sets and kick to the corners, take the two when it presents itself and tackle tackle tackle. Very proud of the boys tonight, after last week i never saw it coming.
Maybe last weeks capitulation was the kick up the arris that they needed. Seems to have sharpened the senses for tonight. Well done boys

| Full credit to all the players and coach for that result tonight. Thoroughly deserved the win and had composure in the 2nd half. The chase back by Lineham in the 2nd half was key as it prevented a certain try. No-one deserves to be dropped from that side, Ratchford and Patton were outstanding in the halves and all the tries were scored by wingers who would have never even played if it was not for an injury crisis.

| Congrats from this FC fan. Fully deserved win tonight. Always been of the opinion Ratchford is a halfback and Russell is a full back and tonight proved it.

| For me what made a massive difference was Russell at full back, his gains in yards is a massive difference . We played our best rugby at start of year when he was there. Credit to , too all the youngsters they have all stepped up very well credit to the club and academy staff etc. I can feel a sickie coming on Thursday so I can get to the game . Common wire two more wins

as a huge Penny fan that was probably his worst game all season yet he scores a well taken try. diffuses a couple of difficult bombs and charges out of the line to make crucial one on one tackles at the right time.....
yes he dropped a couple of dodgy ones but still miles better than playing Evans and Russell on the Wings ..
Russel was superb at fullback and nothing was going to get past Rhys Evans at tonight..... awesome...

| Really buzzing and have a big unit of ale to celebrate. Can't believe we've pulled the iron out of the fire like that. We looked better balanced tonight but
the attitude won it. I think last week hurt the players and TS a lot, hence his first response to Sky saying that 'were not bottlers like we've been accused of sometimes'.
The mental attitude won it for me and the sense of being written off and scores to be settled won it. TS v media and opinions, our wingers especially Lineham who had a point to prove, Westerman had a stormer against old club. But our big players in Hill, Clark and Ratchford more than stepped up. Evans was brilliant in his natural position. Pattern was fantastic. They all deserve a pat on the back. Very proud Wire tonight.

Yep - agree with that, and after my absolute disgust at the cave-in last week I was really pleased with that performance - although never got too excited as I expected us to cave in like last week - even with 10 mins to go.
We've now shown we can do it, so let's concentrate on the same again. Selection headaches for Tony.
If 'the bottlers' bit really stung the team and TS (in particular), then it should have done and I'm pleased it did.

I understand that but Hull didn't really test our potential weaknesses.
No kick pressure on Russell.
No kicks making Lineham turn.
If we have the same team - or something similar next week - I can imagine what KC will be saying.
Nevertheless, let's enjoy the moment.
Good performances all round.

| Outstanding, last week was a painful reminder of how hard it can be to follow the wire and tonight was the exact opposite. So proud to wear the shirt tonight and to a man they all earned every bit of praise. Lineham has tested us but he was excellent tonight as was penny, ratchford and patton managed the game brilliantly. We overplayed but when we did it was in the right areas, we managed the field position so well tonight. Optimism has grown tonight, I thought before the cup we would lose the final and go on to win the rest, I seriously doubted that last week but now I wish I had put the bet on.

| Hull were poor but boy did our lads give it everything tonight and I am so proud of them.
Tonight we were daring in attack and concentrated in defence, which is all you can ask for. Sure, the odd offload hit the deck and the odd break was made, but each player knew what his job was and had faith in his inside man in defence. No easy walk-ins for opposition wingers, no desperation runs out of the defensive line.
Players like Russell and Hill put their body on the line for the team; players like Patton and Clark kept their eye on the game plan and got us to minute 80 with the scoreboard in our favour.
What an effort to win the LLS and reach a cup final in a season where most of us would have been happy with us re-establishing ourselves among the top four. Well done to the whole club. But let's aspire to more and shove a big fella right up Eddie Hemmings' booty and get ourselves to Old Trafford - with tonight's courage and application, it isn't so daft a thought.
Come on you Wire.

Agreed and I would love nothing more than Stevo being sent in to retirement by wire shoving it to him. So proud tonight, excellent performance.

| Well, can't say I'm too surprised. As one of the few who didn't see such a big drama in last week's result, I similarly am not shocked tonight. Hull have struggled since the CC Final, and looked pretty average again tonight. We controlled the game well, without looking as slick in attack as last week. Main difference was ability of opposition.
Evans at centre is the key move for me. Gidley and Sandow should play if fit-it's the time of year for the big guns; but if they're not, then we shouldn't be too worried with our back-up. If they do play, then I think Ratch and Russell both have to start, so it's back to Ratch at FB (still his best position), Matty on the wing, and then a toss up between Penny and Lineham.
I don't think we especially missed Currie, which I thought would be the case (he was quiet in second half of season anyway), and Wilde covered OK. Pack still looks very good, and I think should have too much for Saints. If Clarke can keep his form (best player in the league for me in the past 2 months), we'll go awfully close this year.
Would rather be away to Saints than have home 'advantage', but I like the idea of having to beat Saints and Wigan to finally get the monkey off our back

| Excellent win tonight ,well done to the Wire. I think Hull were below par because we wouldn't let them be anything else.Who were the new lads on the wings?
Barring injuries i would keep the same team for the Saints game.

It's what I've seen all year pal. Their position flattered. They've been the most fortunate team in the comp. Virtually injury free all year.
Unlike us pies and stains. No leeds and hudds and it's not surprising hull are up there.

| I'm rather surprised we did that with such a measly looking bench. Massive props to Wilde who stood up very well in the backrow against the likes of Ellis. I think Hill and Sims doing the huge minutes they did really helped, hopefully we won't have to rely on that too much next year with Cooper and possibly Harrison back. Russell saved our bacon in that first half by holding off long enough for cover to get back, that really was Wellens-esque, top class decision making.
It's a pickle of a decision for Smith next week. Sandow has been unplayable at times this season, but coming back in after a few weeks out and expecting him to trail blaze it is a big ask. Gidley has been shaky at best. Patton's game management was absolutely nailed tonight and Ratchford didn't put a foot wrong. Tough call. Either way he'll be ripped for his choice if we lose.
