ohh, i forgot the Man of Steel award was given out via some sort of raffle nowadays.. Chase is a quality half back. He may not be Briers but who will we find who is anything close to him, how far have we come as a club to be able to start labelling people like Chase as rubbish and suggesting they wouldnt get into our team. IF he came he would be our best half back easily, plus if Tony Smith sees him as a signing worth that sort of money then i trust him. Also, would i like to see him play for Wigan against us? certainly not.

The 'if any' bit was put in with only Wires halfback pairing in mind tbh. If it's Briers and one of Myler or O'Brien then fair enough but if Briers goes it's alot of weight dropping on the shoulders of 2 young halfbacks (if you didn't sign a replacement that is).

Other then your halfbacks and our current two superleagues in a rut. The Catalans 2 are very good but besides those, well I'm stumped! Sinfield and McGuire are past it, Lomax is let down massively by Hohiha, Horne and Seymour are no great shakes, Grix and Brough are very up and down and so on.

Chase and Smith aren't in the class of Finch and Leuluai (but have potential to improve) but they'd certainly be one of the best three halfback pairings. With a huge pack and Sam Tomkins to help them along I can't see them struggling too much.

I am dreading the day Briers plays his last game for us. One of a kind.

Nah,don't need chase. I'd put everything we have into getting daz Clarke. He's Gonna be a superstar.

I'm on the fence about Rangi Chase.

I think he's a good player and its obvious when you play Cas most of what they do thats dangerous comes from him.

But when Denis Moran played for London Broncos he had the same effect and although everyone laughs at how crap he was at Wigan, when he signed for them I reckon most people thought that was a good signing, if we had signed Moran at the time I'd have been very pleased.

Despite his Man of Steel I think the jury is still out on Chase.

Rangi Chase not for me thanks.We have better already at the club,i don't understand the Rangi Chase love in.

As good as Chase is, I don't think he's the type of player TS would press the club to go after. Off the cuff rugby is great to watch but in a more structured side his style of play might be difficult to accommodate.

maybe TS has another trick up his 'sleeve' and really rates Chase's off the 'cuff' style!!!

we need a half back and wouldnt mind chase, could be very dangerous behind a dominant pack and with a lot of space. he didnt win MOS last year for being average put it that way.

Think that was more of a slight on Sinfield than bigging up Matty Smith. Grix and Brown aren't exactly good either.

Dont want Dobson, his defence is crap. He is an absolute liability in defence. Failed in the NRL and way below standard. Only has a very good short kick game. Close that and he offers nothing.
