| I love it when RL fans rattle off a list of injured players (half of whom you wouldn't recognise if they walked past you in a club tracksuit in Morrison's) and then claim they would all be in the first seventeen.
Roberts and Fielden were both finished years ago, it's no-one's fault but Wigan's if they've continued to employ them.

Dont be silly, as I said check our team sheets, its not difficult. There is no denying the fact that in our first choice 17 this season Richards, Lauaki, Flower and Prescott have been in it. There is also no denying that Fielden has been our first choice prop when he has been fit and that Roberts would have been full back if it wasnt for his injury. This is just from last night by the way, you could also talk about the likes of Carmont who has missed half the season but I suppose he isnt in the first choice 17 either. Only your Warrington bias would try to argue any differently.
You also mustn't have heard of a little thing that a player has called a contract. When Fielden and Roberts signed their contracts there was no reason to suspect that they would have the injury problems they did and in the case of Roberts it is hardly his fault that he got tackled into a post. ou simply cant just get rid of a layer because they get injured.
Sorry that this doesnt fit in with the warrington we are victims, we are the only team with injuries mentality but many other teams have had as many, if not more injuries than Warrington this season.

I've cut off the first bit of your whine because I found it quite tedious. I thought this bit was interesting though: if you check through my entire posting history you'll see I've never once complained about injuries, and indeed I don't think our current situation is at all unusual or a curse. Clubs like Wigan and Warrington, who are possibly the best run in UK RL, should have squads that are able to cope with injuries and I feel that is the case.
Moaning about injuries every year is more of a Hull FC thing.

Just Browny is absolutely right. The only person whining on about injuries is you. None of us have mentioned them. One poster referred to first choice players who were due to return, but no mention of the side being decimated. We've all (well, nearly all) praised Wigan's display last night, but I'm sorry, some of those players you list are not part of Wigan's first choice 17.

I am not whinging about injuries, we have done well this season, are in great form and are sitting top of the league. Which players are not part of our first choice 17? Maybe you didnt read the post I initially replied to:
Quote ="mark_m"Lots more to come from the Wire though. Including the return of our captain, first choice hooker, a class international utility back, power impact forward and scrum half. I would like to see how other teams would have coped with those key players missing.'"
I was simply illustrating that we too have had many injuries this season and was illustrating to this poster, like he was wondering, how we have coped and that there is still lots more to come from us to. Sorry it wasnt quite the answer you wanted.

Roberts was on fire before his injury and displayed some of the best attacking full back play that I have ever seen in a Wigan shirt, Tomkins would never have been moved to full back in the first place if Roberts hadn't have been injured. As he hasnt played since his injury its hard to know what would have happened when he came back but if we had a full fit Roberts I would think that Tomkins would have been beck at Stand Off with Finch and Leuluai at hooker. That was certainly the plan at the time.

| Famous has got every chance of being in the same high esteem as Odem, 21-12 and Wigan Peer if he keeps this up.
Tell us, Famous, what do you think of McIlorum? If I've understood correctly, the player considered by many Wigan fans the 2nd best British hooker is only in the team because Roberts got injured a couple of years ago.

Even the Saints fans arent as one eyed as you Warrington lot
McIlorum has played very well this season. When Riddell was here and when Roberts was at full back McIlorum was on the bench. This season Leulaui has often alternated with McIlorum and indeed Leuluai was due to take Riddells place at hooker with Roberts at full back and McIlorum on the bench. If it wasnt for Roberts getting injured this was how we would have lined up.
Please tell me which of Richards, Flower, Lauaki, Prescott and Fielden wouldnt be in the Wigan 17.

Flower.
That was hard.
Wigan's forwards and subs last week, just to prove the point:
Quote Prescott, McIlorum, Mossop, Hansen, Hock, O'Loughlin.
Replacements: Lima, Farrell, Tuson, Lauaki.'"
I suspect Fielden, if fit, would replace Tuson out of those. Flower would be nowhere.
Now #### off.

Shows how much you know. Flower has played every week he has been fully fit and played in our first 8 games until his hamstring injury. That kept him out until last weekend when he played for the u20s to get match fitness and where it went again and he is now out for another 6 weeks. Surely you can do better than that.

Have a slow read of what Browny has posted, then have a think about it and come back to us. Have you never ever considered that if all the players you've listed were fit and added to what was on show last night, that Flower would be anywhere near the 17?
As for your argument about 2 players who have hardly played in 2 years, one of whom has now retired, well that really is sheer stupidity.

Absolutely brilliant. Was Fielden fit for any of those eight games?
Perhaps you could tell me how the team would line up if all of the players mentioned were fit?

I agree with you that Wigan have been the best team so far in SL this season. Few would dispute that. Seeing as Wire are still struggling to match last season's form there's every chance that Wigan will be the best team [ifor the whole season[/i.The bits of your comments that invite criticism are where you bitch that you've not been given credit for winning but in the same breath argue the identical standpoint in regards to Wire's win at the DW, plus your invitation to us all to 'get used to it'. If you've been an RL supporter for longer than three months you'll be familiar with just how fast things can change...............

Are you resorting to just listing anyone that has been injured to try and make some sort of point. Wigan too have had plenty of palyers out:
Goulding
Carmont
Richards
Farrell
Mossop
McIlorum
O'Loughlin
Flower
Leuluai
Roberts
Fielden
Lauaki
Warrington are certainly no special case when it comes to injuries.

| None of the above are a pivot. Even if a team had lost a half-back and a hooker like we have done, they would have struggled. Any team would.
