You're getting confused again... the best 7 in England doesn't necessarily equate to being one of the best players in the world, or a player who NRL clubs would be eager to sign.... Like the best centre in SL wouldn't be one of the top players in the NRL...

Wigan fans claim Sam Tomkins is the most exciting players in WORLD rugby, and one of the best players in WORLD rugby... I was moaned at on the Wigan boards when I said I thought Slater was better than Tomkins.

He's a very talented and exciting player. He has some elements to his game (the theatrics and some of the little niggles) that are magnified in the eyes of oppostion fans because of his talent. An easy guy to hate and a nightmare to play.

Sam is one of those players who you despise when they are playing against you, however you'd absolutley love him in your own team because he is a class act.

Very good talent, deceptively strong and looked dangerous every time he ran in broken play. Caused us lots of problems but an arrogant little s... who enjoyed winding those in the East stand up by laughing at that them and mocking.
He's his own worst enemy, and really there's no need. (Maybe he needs that to wind himself up to produce the performances he does ?)
He could be a fantastic player, but it's early days yet.

Again, great comparison. I couldn't stand Ronaldo, but yet I had so much respect for him not only because of his talent, but yet you knew he worked so hard for it. Compared to someone like Robinho, who has all the god given talent in the world, but none of the work ethic.

When Tomkins excels in the best league in the world, and on the biggest stage, you can start making that comparision.

No but he's meant to be a professional player and not raise to the bait, it showed when he did it he got basically told off by his team mates and dragged away. After a Wigan try, when the ball get's put on the half way for kick off as he was walking back he kicked the ball up field the look Finch gave him summed it up then Finch went and kicked the ball back.

He's a fantastic player, incredible at times and when we was kicking straight to him and i was cringing give him an inch and he will take a mile, he has the ability to be one of the best in the world but he needs to cut out some of the stroppy baby dummy spitting stuff his does and he will well and truly become one of SL greats.

I used to love it when the fletch would be hammering the oposition and the players would give a bit back / interact a little. You need to get thicker skin mate.

Put your dummy back in.. Ben and Sam are good mates of the pitch, as confirmed by them both in different interviews.. Get a grip.
