String don't go like that that though, when he did his achilles it was just a random thing. The kind of injuries he has had have happened in the most innocuous circumstances. In fact I'm not sure I can recall any recent injuries we have had that have been down to a player not being rested.

| Suprised Tony Smith hasn't worked his magic and re-arranged the game for say the Monday night to get a little bit extra re-couperation time in. The next league game isn't till the following Sunday anyway at Hull KR

| I think the effect won't be felt against Salford but the week after against Hull KR or against Saints on the Friday after. Fatigue takes it's toll longer down the line rather than 2 days later.

| Quote ="Horatio Yed"I reckon this
Ryan Atkins (not in the ENG 17)
Chris Bridge (plays for ENG rested for Salford)
Garreth Carvell (not in the ENG 17)
Adrian Morley (plays for ENG rested for Salford)
Richard Myler (not in the ENG 17)
Ben Westwood (plays for both)
Hodgson (plays for Exiles rested for Salford)
Anderson (not in the Exiles 17)
King (plays for both) fit lad should be ok
Monaghan (plays for both) interchange though so shouldn't be too tired
Bridge/Hodgson/Morley missing for Salford.'"
Think and hope you might be spot on with that Yed. Noticed in the Guardian that Mitchell and McCarthy are now on week to week loans and can be recalled after this weekend. Full back might be a problem without Hodgy and Bridge but apart from that we should have a pretty strong squad for Salford.

| Overall i think it's ridiculous we are even in this position. The RFL should just have an international break like they do in football. Top spot could be decided because of this. Same for Wigan and Saints too

| This is looking like the same old short sighted selection that will do nothing to improve our international.
It's rumoured that Sinfield will play 6 WTF?
Good player, but not an interntional 6 and not big enough for a 13 at international level.
Played very well at dummy half for England tho.
Lomax looks worth a punt at 6, Sinny at 9 with Roby off the bench for impact (although not now obviously)
At least Lomax is a threat and is a natural, pacy half back.

| I'd go, if i had free reign
1. Tomkins
2. Foster
3. Bridge
4. Yeamen
5. Hall
6. Brown
7. Brough
8. Morley
9. Sinfield
10. Graham
11. Peacock
12. Westwood
13. O'Loughlin
14. Robinson
15. Tomkins J
16. Carvell
17. Crabtree
Robinson at interchange, Sinfields distribution at hooker impressed me last time and it means having a lot of 5th tackle options and a team full of goal kickers. Foster, Sinfield, Brough, Tomkins and to a lesser extent Bridge and Westwood.

| not sure about Hall. But can'#t think of anyone off the top of my head who would be better. Tempted to say Evans (given the not really competitive nature of the match). Else where there is Charnley and maybe that guy from the championship who plays for hudds. Also I would have Lomax.
Other than that spot on Yed, IMO.
edit: I also like Briscoe for the posh Hullians.

Brough and Lomax for me, they are the 2 in form english half backs. The team should be chosen on form and not past reputations which is why i'm suprised Jamie Peacock is in the side, i like Jamie Peacock as a person and he's been one of the best british forwards in the game but he shouldn't be starting this game on form never mind being captain.
We've been down this road many times before with the international side where we pick names and past reputations ahead of current form, also i aint a fan of playing players out of position like with Sinfield at 6 which is apparently where he's going to play. It aint worked too well before in the past with the likes of Farrell, Scully, O'Loughlin and Sinfield at half back, Lomax should be stand off, lets build for the future and use this game to see how some of our promising, in form youngsters take to the international game.

| Similar, but i'd go
1. Tomkins
2. Foster
3. Bridge
4. Yeamen
5. T. Briscoe
6. Lomax
7. Brough
8. Morley
9. Sinfield
10. Graham
11. Peacock
12. Westwood
13. O'Loughlin
14. Robinson
15. Tomkins J
16. Carvell
17. Crabtree
Briscoe over hall, and Lomax over Brown, Brown had a chance i think we need to start believing in talented kids and give them a chance early doors. Gives other kids belief they can make the grade rather than spend ten years trying to oust 'over the hill' players...

| Possible Wire team for Salford updated to take account of those now available...
Bridge (will have to back up I think, if not then Hellewell)
Williams
Grix
Blythe
Atkins (will have to back up I think, if not then Shaw)
Clarke
Briers
Cooper
Higham
Wood
Anderson
Mitchell
Solomona
Bench - Morley, King, Carvell all backing up plus McCarthy.
If Myler is available, then Clarke can move to pack or bench.

i`d go with that its about the best we can offer...but what ever side we field come the important games we know our players are simply not good enough..
