I think thats a bit harsh deckchair, when the adrenaline is flying in the opening stages of a grand final we can all get a bit carried away.

remember a john player semi at central park when sorenson flattened our hooker(his name escapes me) from behind(mccloride style)resulting in a brawl,,sure paul bishop missed the final for fighting with one of the hulmes

Boyd DESTROYED Sorenson and Widnes that day, was only on the pitch for 60 mins and played with a broken nose.

I'm gonna have to add Nikau into this debate in modern times. He loved a bit of biff.

Yeah, Sir Les was immense. Boydie (with able support from Roberts & Mike Greg) had Sorensen and their other "enforcer" Noel Cleal in his back pocket all afternoon long. When he needed to play he did it with aplomb, when he needed to make plunging, damaging runs deep into their forwards he never shirked and when the biff came around he was there at the forefront defending his colleagues and seeking retribution.

Loved that man.

As other have said Andy Greg had moved on to Wigan before Roach and Davidson played in our pack. Phil Blake and John Woods were the half backs in that team. Davidson and Blake refused to come back and play in the semi v Wigan at Maine Road. They were both rewarded for their loyalties and given lucrative contracts by Wigan a year later.
