He's been in fantsatic form lately and has been instrumental in our run of victories lately.I think this is due to the forwards finally making the right kind of angled runs for his flat passes to be effective and they are now making hay on the back of that.
It's going to be a cracking game and i cant wait for it.

| Atkins is on a bit of a flat patch but he's capable of a performance, Williams and Higham though wtf Smith see in them.
Clarke i actually don't mind, offer nothing in attack but he's a great defender.

Not played since the Saints game because of concussion, for what it's worth I reckon Smith has been saving him for this game and will ease him in from the bench.
I'd go with:
1. Hodgson
2. J Monas
3. Bridge
4. Atkins
5. King
6. Briers
7. Myler
8. Carvell
9. M Monas
10. Wood
11. Louis
12. Westwood
13. Grix
14. Higham
15. Morley
16. Solomona
17. Harrison > Cooper > Clarke

| What does Gary Schofield know about rugby league?
Has he even played the game?
I reckon I've forgotten more about league than Schofield ever knew.

| Our bad luck with injuries could nto have come at a worst time. From what I can figure next week we are likely to be without:
Morley - at least 2 weeks away
Solomona - the club has been quiet on why he missed Harlequins but I believe he's gone for the season.
Myler and King - both had to stay overnight in London due to head injuries and must therefore be a doubt for next week
Atkins - asked to play with his knee strapped-up yesterday to see if it could last 80 minutes. Broke down and therefore will now have the op this week to be ready for next season
Cooper - told that cut must heal before doctor will give the ok to play again - probably another two weeks
Harrison - pulled-up during warm-up yesterday and looks like his harmstring will keep him out three weeks
Riley - harmstring injury keeping out of the u20s even
I reckon we could line-up as follows and even if we win few if any of the above will be back for the semi:
1) Hodgson
2) Monaghan
3) Bridge
4) Blythe
5) Williams
6) Briers
7) Clarke
Carvell
9) Monaghan
10) Wood
11) Anderson
12) Westwood
13) Grix
14) Higham
15) McCarthy
16) Evans
17) Evans
Big risk with the two Evans on teh bench having only just returned from injury maybe Mitchell to get re-called from Harlequins and to be interchange prop - did he play in the cup for Quins?
Its going to take an Hercuulian effort to be beat Wigan missing nearly half of our team.

Thats was a cracking interview by Faz.
Schofield (Player) 9/10
Schofield (Coach) 4/10
Schofield (Pundit) 4/10
Based on my assessment I'd have him in my team, but nothing else. On the flip side I wouldnt have Tony Smith in my side but I'd have him coaching it.

Mark did you go to the "coaching clinic" given by Chris Baron? I believe conditioning to peak for certain games was discussed.

Lets wait until Thursday, when Smith announces the 19

You can tell that TS had one eye on the Wigan game during the Quins match (playing only two props, having three hookers on the pitch at times, Bridge at loose forward, Westwood on the bench). The trade off for a scrappy second half against Quins is that we'll go into the game this week with a lot of key personnel relatively fresh. I don't think Wigan will have had too much taken out of them by Wakey, though so it probably won't be a huge advantage.
Regarding Finch, it seems to have taken him a long time to settle in. He was terrible in the first few games I saw him play, but lately he's looked a lot more impressive. Does anybody else think that Charnley may be in for a very busy afternoon on the wing?

Not very often I've agreed with jd on here, but I'm with him on this one.
I just don't by into all this cod psychology of losing next week makes us slight favourites to finish top....complete hogwash.
Winning your games keeps your confidence levels up.
(Potentially) losing a big QF to your main rivals, does not help your attempts to win the league.
With regards to the league, I feel that Wigan have one game to lose ( v us), all the rest, they should be quite comfortable wins
We have two games to lose (Worriers, and that horrible looking away game in the South of France heat), all the rest, should be quite comfortable wins
I can't see for the life of me, how (potentially) losing next week's cup match, will help us finish top of the table after 27 rounds .

| Charnley, for me when I've watched him seems to come out of the line alot and I'm sure Smith will know this, therefore we should prioritize to attack down his wing. I think we'll see the a variety of attacks, from the Hodgson cut out pass to the Hodgson grubber into the corner for Joel ala Huddersfield, to try and catch Charnley out as if he comes out the line he'll be wrong footed.
Basically, Charnley is the weak-link for me.
