Mcdonalds stands on the site of the old H&J. Used to pop down there after college, around 1982/3. Responsible for my first ever alcohol-induced vomitting session. 6 pints of Greenalls Festival

| I'd rather be somewhere quiet on match day. Nice couple of pints then walk it off on the way to the ground. Winwick Quay everytime.

Good question.
I would probably say, despite the fact that it's murder trying to get served, it would probably be the Black Bull in St Helens. And maybe the Warehouse in Huddersfield.

| Quote ="MikeyWire"The Lord Rodney now has Ray Fisher in charge and apparently will be refurbed in May does anyone still use the Rodney for a Pre-match drink?
I know a lot of away fans tend to aim for the Rodney...
The Red Lion has a relief manager on board after the previous owners gave it up (possibly due to the ill health of the landlord not sure on the facts)...
Does everyone still use the same pub for a pre match drink or have you swapped and changed?'" previous guy died

Barge and Barrel in Elland
or
The Grove in Huddersfield
or
The Kings Arms in Wakefield.
Hard to choose - three totally different pubs but all brilliant.

Went to the Albion after the Quins game last week - was pleased to see it had been rejuvenated with some proper beers and will soon start brewing its own. Worth checking out if you haven't already been.

| The Salisbury or Thirsty Scholar by Oxford Road station in Manchester then the 14.11 train to Central for a Sunday 3pm kick off. An early dart (leave the West Stand two minutes from the end to walk round and check the final seconds from the South East exit gate) to make sure of the 16.44 train back and the Thirsty Scholar just after five. Works for me.

| Red Lion for me. Even though it is filthy. The beers OK and they even seemed to have enough staff behind the Bar last Sunday. My favourite away Pub used to be the Fox and Goose adjacent to Central Park, Wigan.
