Atkins has great potential, he's given 100% and more at Wakey and I wish him all the best at Warrington. If he had half the brains of JD or Tony Martin he would be an awesome player - I kind of think Tony Smith might have some impact in that area. Unless he improves in that department he'll end up on the wing outside King (I bet right wingers are caking themselves just thinking about it!) OR with a few more Toby Carverys inside him at loose or second row.

A good purchase by you, lets hope he fulfills his potential!

We are short of centres. Bridge has always had something about him, a bit of everything, and I think his career has suffered because of it. The aim should be to build a team with specialist players in EVERY position. Where does bridge fit in? Is he a centre? I'm not sure, I don't think he is. I see him as a jack of all trades but a master of none. I'm not being critical of the lad, I feel he's been messed around so much, that he has been unable to learn his trade in one specific position.

I disagree, Mathers had 5 decent games to start with but he's had a couple of stinkers along the way.

We've a potentially similar situation with Goulding for next season, but at least we didn't pay a fortune for him.

Thats because he's not very good.
I actually rated him the first few times I saw him.
He's just not 'got it' though

still paying him 65k though.

He needs a better coach to bring out the best in his abilities IMO, he looked good for Salford, but got injured in about his 2nd game back for us.



It's a good situation to be in at least, having quality depth and competition for places.

I think we may well re-sign Carney for next season. Inevitable injuries means that a top squad needs at least three good centres and three good wingers, so Bridge, King, Atkins, Riley, Hicks, Carney would fit this bill I expect to see Kevin Penny on a season-long loan, probably to Widnes.
