Mixed reactions on this thread,but did anyone see Moz on the pitch after the final whistle???? I didnt...

He was talking to fans next to me, taking photos with kids in other words doing his job as he always does. He's in need of some playing hours then he'll be the same hero he was last season. I hope he doesn't read some of the crap spouted on this site !

Why wouldn't I have Harrison as first choice ? Simple answer is Hill, Moz, Carvell, Woody, Sol,,Westwood ,Waterhouse , Grix are all better players IMO
Harrison and Cooper are the future but at this point IMO are back up players

Not the player he was physically, but still your pack leader, and a massive psychologial componant to the make up of your team. Its wrong to underestimate the presence people like Morley and Peacock have, dispite not being the players they once were. OK, people here will say that he is just as good as he was 10 years ago, but they would be wrong. If he was, he would still be down under. And that's not being disrespectful to you guys.

For anybody who needs reminding the influence Morley has just needs to look back to last season, Wigan in the cup and he was rumoured to be back for the game after a couple of months out with his eye injury, 30 minutes before the game he came and stood in the tunnel on his own and gave a massive lift for the fans. He might not be our best prop but are we really in a position where we need him to be? the leadership he shows and whether hes in form or not you can guarantee players still fear Morley running at them , he is one of those players who can lift the side whether it be a big hit or a driving run. Also he is our captain for gods sake Morley on form is still one of the best props in Super League. As for Ben Harrison he is showing the form which got him selected for the England squad a couple of years ago after a quiet season last year, he would definitely be in the starting 17 interchanging 13 with Simon Grix , leaving Paul Wood and Mike Cooper not even in the team.. not a bad problem to have

If Sam Tomkins was that good he would have gone down under like Sibbit did when he went to Melbourne Storm.

The Aussies obviously don't rate Sam that good otherwise why would he be in England.

I don't think the RFU would be to happy if he went.After all he will be the main showcase case come the next union world cup.

He will become the "son we don't mention" to the Wigan fans like Chris Ashton.

I cannot believe some of the comments I am reading about Morley here. He is without doubt the best forward of his generation and still is one of the leading Props in Super League. Why on gods earth people want him to retire at the end of the year is plain lunacy. Allways wanted Moz at Saints but long may he continue.... Class forward...

Morley is now 35. He has been a fantastic player and has done a great deal for the club at a personal level as well as on the field. He is always available to shake hands and chat to the supporters, and is a great ambassador for the club. Personally though, I feel old father time has caught him up and I can not see him playing for us next year.

However, I think the point I would like to make is that he will know when it is time to hang up the boots. He will know how hard it is to get back to the line when we are defending, he will know how many yards he makes and how many tackles he breaks etc etc. From what I know of TS, he demands honesty from the players and seeks to get them to take responsibility for their weaknesses and mistakes and to constantly improve. In that sort of environment it will be very difficult for him to ask for another year if he feels he can not deliver.

I think he will choose to retire.

Whatever else is said about Morley, he would not get snotted by part timers. They would all be queuing up to swap shirts with him at the end of the game.

I tend to mostly agree with you WO. Morley has done a lot of good, on and off the pitch for us and he and TS will know when the time is right to move on/retire.

I think, perhaps hopefully, that we get one more year out of each other. Not in a sentimental way, I don't think he, as a top pro' would be happy with that, but, one that sees him returning to form for the rest of this season and bowing out with us next year with some more silverware in his trophy cabinet.

Failing that, win the big two this year and give Salford a boost, can't see a retirement just yet....

Well you could be right Rico. I have just watched the replay of the Superleague show on iplayer and there was a short article about him. He did say that he would like one more year, so who knows ?

WO I think the valid point that you originally made was that HE will know better than anyone and I think he is honest and do the right thing.

I hope he gets another year on the basis that his form and contribution demands it rather than as someone percieved to be looking for a final 'pay off' and making up the numbers. He just doesn't seem to be that kind of bloke and with his rep' he deserves to go out at the top.
