When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”
That’s most of us not throwing stones then, is it ok to throw one at Charnley.

you know *THREAD DIGRESSION WARNING* just on the biblical quotes. i was quite disapointed that the club( who aren't affraid of a little copyright infringement) when we signed blake austin, they didn't do a rip off, of the famous WW t shirts for stone called steve austin that said
AUSTIN
3:16
they could have amended it to
AUSTIN
6:13
(cos he wore six and there are 13 players in a team)
thats money missed

MRP still sat on the Monday. And McDonnell appeal was heard the next day.

Excuse my ignorance, but does this mean he is already guilty and the tribunal are going to meet to set his sentence, or is this where he can put forward his defence and try to plead his innocence?

Thus is what he's being charged with and he can argue his case.

Ok. Will be interesting to see how it pans out. From rumours on here, it appears to be Leigh providing all the evidence, and while that might be enough for a RL tribunal to go along with, I'd be interested to know if that could stand up in an actual civil court, if McGuire were to be certain of his innocence and felt he needed to clear his reputation from what would be a huge stain on his character, not just within sporting circles?

He was refused the right to appeal at his previous tribunal, don`t remember that happening before to another player?
If McGuire was to use a Civil Court to clear his name, then the RFL, may regret that decision.

| If McGuire has done what he is accused of, and the evidence is there, he should be out of the club. And frankly Powell probably should too: if he and his team couldn't communicate to McGuire what was expected during the previous two months he was sat on the sidelines, you have to question his competence as a coach and a leader.

| Just been reading the minutes of the panel for magic Weekend. What a load of rubbish. When you look at the decisions and bans that have been dished out in the past this looks more like a cash raising event. 2 matches for punching and 1 match for a classic hip drop which injured Pitts, your having a laugh. Still £2,750 for an after meeting p**s up.

I'm sorry, but that's complete rot - Coaches being sacked because of the individual actions of their players?... Seriously?
Fights break out on the pitch regularly, so should a manager be sacked for failing to control their players?
Look, I know some of you are desperate to see the back of Powell, but have a little bit of common sense to your reasoning?... ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

'" Ok what about the decision to sign him in the first place? Was that Karl or Powell because whoever took that decision deserves to come under some scrutiny. They signed a bloke who had one of the worst disciplinary records ever in the NRL and now we’re getting rid of him because of further disciplinary issues. Both Powell and Karl told us that McGuire had great leadership skills.

That's the unknown, million dollar question on here, isn't it?
Fitzpatrick is often cited as being the man who seeks out targets and I suspect, especially with overseas players, he will be the man who will be getting approached by Aussie agents looking to get their man a payday in SL.
I'd reckon it's not 100% on either of them, but Fitzpatrick probably has control over the purse strings over Powell, so likely has the final say from a Powell approved list?

If someone in my team at work does something ridiculous and brings the whole organisation into disrepute, that's on them. If I bring them back into the team, tell my bosses they've learned their lesson, and they go and do the exact same thing, I'm going to be answering some very difficult questions.
The stuff about me being desperate for Powell to go is deranged. I'm absolutely desperate for it all to work but I'm starting to fear the worst.

| A lot of fans on here were calling for McGuire to be made team captain.
Certainly there has been a change of heart by people now criticising his recruitment now.........

What final position this season would you consider it not working then?
It seems to me that many people have got into their heads that anything less than a GF win would be seen as a failure and that Powell's position would come under serious consideration, when, in reality, that is a bit of a nonsense.

I didn't expect us to win a GF this year. It was obvious that our squad lacked enough depth and quality in the back row and the centres before a ball was kicked, and I said so at the start of the year. Before the season I'd have said we needed to get into the top 4/5 to show the Powell project was progressing.
Clearly that's where we are now. But the direction of travel is as important as the final league position. If we scrape along to a top half finish winning 40% of games from here on in, that will look like a success but the start we had is going to mask over a lot of issues. We can choose to recognise that or ignore it

| Similar to what browny said, at the moment we seem (to me at least) to be in the early stages of slipping, a la 2019 after we won the cup, and for most ppl thats where our most recent malaise began.
Yes first half this year has been a massive improvement over last year, but if drop like a ing stone for the rest of this season, that's a huuuge problem for powell

| I'm in that space too. We're higher up the ladder than most people expected. If we'd had 4 from 8 at the start, I don't think we'd be expecting to go 7 unbeaten, so we'd have ended up lower down the ladder.
We really do need to win the next three (against 10th, 11th and 8th) to show that the first 7 weren't a fluke.
