| Less than 3 weeks to the election and David Cameron is doing a grand job of throwing a landslide victory away.
Last night's (none) performance in the debate was truly embarrassing. Getting upstaged by the young Liberal upstart is absolutely shameful for a man who is supposed to be the next big hope for this country.
Those who were tempted to switch to this man, must now be having serious reservations....Oh, for a proper Conservative politician, who would have tore Clegg to pieces.
Brown, who looked out of place as the dour old Scotsman, held his end up quite well, seeing as he is the man with it all to lose in these debates, being as he has led the country into this reputed mess we are in and as he is the man who most of the country seem to hold a grudge against.
Though I think they won't admit to it, the Tories must be seriously hacked off that they don't have a half decent leader in place, so they can secure a victory that should be a walk in the park...

Well, they've only got themselves to blame for that - they chose the smarmy get.

| I thought Brown was the worst of the three. They were having a serious and proper debate until he came out with his jokes and one liners.

What do you mean, 'verging on propaganda'??.... ...It is propaganda.
What you have to remember is that they have a vested interest in getting Cameron & his cronies into power, and being a newspaper which is mainly bought by the stupid, gullible people of this country means that they do, unfortunately, carry a fair bit of clout.
However, surely even the most stupid of their readers can see through what is the most biased nonsense you could ever hope to read??

| The "vested interest" to which Pirate refers, and which also applies to all media outlets owned by Rupert Murdoch, is that the Tories are likely to attack the BBC if they get in to the benefit of Sky.
As Murdoch owns the Sun and the Times, their viewpoint is understandable, if somewhat odious.

| This is General Election time. There is no Tony Blair. Therefore we see the Sun, the Mail, the Express, the Telegraph all on the warpath for the Tories. No big deal.

I cannot wait to actually read The Sun on May 7th if Camerong has blew the election as it is becoming increasingly likely he will.
As a Labourite, I am loving this "Lib Dem Revival", as even in 3rd place we would still secure a 30 seat majority if translating poll numbers to seats.
Go On Gordon!

| A lot of people jumping on the Lib Dem bandwagon based on the only time they've ever seen Nick Clegg on TV. Let's not forget we're don't have a presidential-style election here like America; we vote for a party, not a leader.

Very well put Mr Soul, and its especially surprising to see people from Warrington suddenly Lib Dem, when I can guarantee most did not know we currently have a Lib Dem/Tory Council which has delivered the worst Childrens Services and Social Services reports in Warrington's history, conducted a farcical election in 2007, spent £30 000 on a ferris wheel for the Town Hall lawn in December. And this sadistic council are also well under way with the plans for mass job cuts in the Council sector, ironically 85% of these cuts are in the safer Labour area of Warrington North.
Somehow I doubt Mr Clegg discussed any of this when he visited the town on Friday, nevertheless LibDems - Welcome to the political arena but be prepared to be scrutinised to the hilt.

| Wait for the remaining two debates when Clegg's attitude towards European integration and the Euro will see the Lib Dem share plummet. People will suddenly realise that a vote for him will lead to our capitulation to Europe and the acceptance of the Euro.

| It will suck the Tories into spending the election talking about Europe, like they did the last two.
Whilst it is an important issue of sovereignty, the public aren't that motivated by it else Hague would have done better in 2001 when he based his whole campaign on it.
There isn't a mountain of difference between the Lib Dems on Europe and Blair on Europe, or for that matter Ken Clarke.

| Our 11 year old announced this morning he would vote for Nick Clegg because he is the only one of the 3 who cares about saving the planet. Food for thought that the future generations are less concerned about being a part of Europe or sorting out the banks & more concerned with there being a planet to live on in the future...

Do you remember the Sun's stance in 1996, when Blair had allready been elected Labour leader, and it was evident that the Tories had no chance of winning the (what was to be) 1997 election, the Sun changed it's political stance, to back Blair's Labour party. The Sun just want to be associated with whoever is popular at the time.
Unfortunately, your average Sun reader does not have the wit to form their own political viewpoint. You've only to look at The Sun's style of "journalism". The whole paper is based on one sentence paragraphs, and "none stories" about Beckham's wife, Jordan, and "talent" shows. Enough said.

| Gordon Brown goes on a state visit to Israel . While he is on a tour of Jerusalem he suffers a heart attack and passes away. The undertaker tells the British Diplomats accompanying him, 'You can have him shipped home for £50,000, or you can bury him here, in the Holy Land, for just £100.'
The British Diplomats go into a corner and discuss for a minute. They come back to the undertaker and tell him they want Gordon shipped home.
The undertaker is puzzled and asks, 'Why would you spend £50,000 to ship him home, when it would be wonderful to be buried here and you would spend only £100? With the money you save you could help pay back some of the deficit, help pay for the Olympic Games or help the elderly'.
The British Diplomats replied, 'Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and three days later he rose from the dead. We just can't take the risk.'

| Fair electoral system?
Latest BBC Poll of Polls - Tories 33%, Lib Dems 29%, Labour 28%.
On a uniform swing numbers of seats would be Labour 280, Tories 247, Lib Dems 94.
Go figure.
