You are probably right and IMO the sport needs more of this. A bit of trash talking away from the games will pump up rivalries and create headlines. Controversy = publicity.

We should get rival coaches in on a staged table like in boxing.
A couple of days ahead of a sky or premier sports game, like the weigh-in.
In this event, the coaches each in turn of one, name who will play that position, followed by a comment of what that player can do to the opponents.

The bigger the game the less friendly the coaches might become!

It would certainly get more people interested in whats happening. if they hear two rival coaches going at it its only natural you want to see the outcome of it.

The forward battle was ferocious with lots of skill on show by both sets of backs.
Wigan did edge a very good pre season game.
Wire will have their hands full with that Saints pack and Walsh looks very good.
