Interesting how someone just throws in a comment and almost everyone falls for it. I bet Nosey Parker's seen this and it will be in his column tomorrow. A bit like the Ryan Atkins to RU thread.

In your opinion though. It's his choice and wouldn't hold it against him if i were a Wire fan. He has been a cretin here. I know him personally and he is ok on his own. It's when he teams up with his unemployed council estate mates the problems start.

it was also said that he is buying a house in Warrington, that may help with the problems you associate with a council estate??

Why is it ridiculous?
I don't like him, I don't like things he's done, so I'm definitely not going to spend money watching him disgrace a Wire shirt .... and at some point, he would.
I've brought my lad up to not do things he's done; I instill in junior rugby players to never do certain things he's done; 'Ridiculous' would be to pay money to cheer him, just because he is at Wire ......

Because it is. It's petty.
If you dislike someone where you work; are you going to quit your job?

I don't like him either, but I'm sorry, I'm not going to be giving up my season ticket just because TS gets a player that I don't like. And if he does disgrace the shirt, no doubt he'll be gone.

Did you get rid of your ST when Martin Gleeson played for the club?

And if your lad did stray from your ethics, would you never watch him play rugby again? Could you never forgive him?

| He enjoys the pantomime villan persona I think. Great player but with all the baggage he brings would he be worth the risk? Salford would seem to be his realistic option, either that or returning to the Piedome.

I'd forgive him, but I wouldn't expect the wider society to embrace him with open arms and cheer him on like it never happened.
There's a huge difference in forgiving a family member an indiscretion and Moran/Smith going out and paying to bring a drug taking thug into what is supposed to be a family orientated club. Great example to set, that is.
Would you condone bringing in Peter Sutcliffe & Robert Mugabe if you thought it would bring GF success? Forget that - I'm guessing some on here would .......
edit: 'No' to the Gleeson question, as the club made it clear they would get rid of him .....

(Plus, I'm not sure of the RL prowess of either of those)

| Mugabe and sutcliff. Steady on.
dont even know why in going there as there is a huge difference in scale of wrong doing, but for your info.
tongue in check.
Mugabe hasn't been found guilty of anything and is still the elected ruler of a democracy.
Sutcliff hasn't finished his punishment of his crime.
Hock paid his dues.

He ticks all your boxes but you say no?
I think the left side needs him. Atkins ain't the player he was two seasons ago. Waterhouse ain't as agressive as Anderson was. Short of a bit of biff down that left flank.

also from June 2009:
Quote ="rubber duckie"Lee Briers wont be at Warrington next season, if he were to be, wouldn't you think the club would have already tied him up on an extension already?? Hmmm?
I am sure we will hear of him penning three year deal and an undisclosed signing-on deal probably around six figures at a championship club in the way Iyestn Harris has moved to Fev, but Lee will go to forward looking Barrow!!
Good Luck with it Lee

then April 2009:
Quote ="rubber duckie"Smith and Lowes both failed to turn up at the HJ last night at Warrington's youth development, attended by many kids who were thrilled to be meeting Tony Smith for the first time, Andrew Farrell's father who is a kid scout at Warrington stood in at the last moment.
It was a major dissappointment for those kids but on the other hand it was said that both Smith and Lowes had flew out to France that day to speak with Sonny Bill Williams about a move to Warrington for the 2010 season. There is also speculation that he may even be here by next month.

Warrington are on the verge of creating yet another super league signing sensation.
Warrington are about to sign Matt Orford from Melbourne Storm on a three and a half year deal at around £250,000 a season.
Brett Finch yesterday penned a deal with Melbourne Storm until the end of the NRL regular season, signaling that Storm have lost their efforts to keep hold of Orford as he is lined up for a move to the uk. A move initiated by Warrington Wolves owner and pop concert promoter Simon Moran.
Michael Monaghan will complete the trio of moves by being released from the remaining two and a half year contract with the Wolves deal to take up a the vacated position of the Finch move from Parramatta Eels.'"

| As I recall wire later admitting an approach for matt Orford was made with Orford choosing to remain on oz for a season or two. Wire then took no interest and he eventually went to bratford.
Like the Hock saga, players do consider options and change thier minds at the eleventh hour!
We ended up with monas instead. Result
