Robinson had far more talent than Eastmond and had already 'made it' in RL. Eastmond has had one good half season followed by a series of injuries. Robinson's attitude was also very good, he was prepared to listen and learn. Eastmond's attitude is poor. I'm watching the game now and I've just watched his pass to Gaskell. Poor pass from Eastmond behind the player who can't control it. Eastmond just stands and watches, then blames Gaskell.

Robinson didn't have more talent than Eastmond. Before Robinson went to Union he couldn't kick a ball and was just a pacy and elusive runner. Playing Union improved his game no end.
Eastmond has it all. He can kick, short and long. He can kick goals. He has pace and a running style very similar to Robinson's. He was brilliant at centre for Saints when Long was here, defensively solid and so dangerous in attack. He will go down well in Union I feel if he can stay away from the injuries, which is his only downfall. The mental side of things is hardly a problem unique to Kyle either. Many young players have had similar issues, Sean Long was one. Jason Robinson himself had major trouble in his teen years at Wigan with the demon booze and getting into trouble. He himself credits Inga Tuigamala with saving not only his career but probably his life through helping him find god and take a step back. Eastmond is just a young kid who knows he is talented and who has probably had people bigging him up all his career. His head will have been filled with wonderful things by Union and with the figures likely to be involved it's no wonder he's off. You have to factor in he's working under a coach who knew he was likely to be leaving the club and so by all accounts barely involved him in training. I think Leon Pryce's injury is the only reason Eastmond has been playing this season for Saints.

apparently Bath are looking at the wing or full back of which he is neither IMHO
but who would have him if there is no room for his salary in the League salary cap

| If he wants to go then Saints need to let him asap.No good having a player, whos mind is not on the job. He will soon come crawling back, with his tail between his legs. When it all goes pear shaped.I can't see where he will play in the 15 man code.

Is Royce the man to do rebuilding job.
Not a quip a genuine question.
IF Graham and Kyle leave as expected, then for the first time in many years there are more players in my team I would want than there are in your team. In fact the only player's in your team that I would really really want at the Wire is Roby, Pryce and Puletua (that's assuming Graham and Kyle leave). Roby I would break the bank for and I think Puletua is a great forward.
Wellens/ Hodgson = Hodgson
Gardner/ Monaghan = Monaghan
Shenton / Bridge = Bridge
Wheeler ? / Atkins = Atkins
Meli / King = King
Gaskill /Briers = Briers
Pryce / Myler = Pryce
Perry / Morley = Morley
Roby / Monaghan = Monas (but I think Roby is a wonderful player and as stated earlier would break the bank for him)
Graham / Cravell = Graham
Wilkin / Westwood = Westwood
Puletua / Louis = Puletua
Fllanery / Harrison = Harrison

We would dominate, in fact we would probably overtake the US and become the worlds leading superpower.
To have Roby and Monas in our team would be world beating .
Please Mr Moran any chance of a very large cheque being written.
I know this has almost no chance of happening.......but Saints have a new stadium to pay for and everything that entails. Its not just building the stadium its kitting it out with everything that it will need. Roby has just this past month signed a long term contract and Saints would be able to ask a massive (probably world record) fee for him. Saints are in the rebuilding phase and we are in the ascendancy. Roby would have a choice between helping rebuild a team with promise of Trophies to come one day, or have his cake and eat it and play in a settled team with a massive salary (Ahem one way or the other) and win trophies now.
Cunningham, Long, Graham, Eastmund, Pryce et al have all left or will probably leave and this will lessen James reasons to stay with Saints.
The following has been said a couple of times in recent seasons but in a different context, 'there has never been a better time' for Mr Moran to have a quite word with Roby's agent.

You're obviously an Eastmond fan. He can't do everything. If Friday was anything to go by, he proved that his kicking game is lacking and some of his passing leaved a lot to be desired. He's also extremely petulent and won't get far in Union with an attitude like that. Robinson had also achieved an awful lot in RL went he went, whereas Eastmond has had one good six month period, followed by a period of under-achievement and injury.

Yes, we have monas for that though

Saints' monies for their new stadium have been generated from the sale of KR. The move will make their cash flow infinitely better, as I would wager the cost of maintaining KR would have been crippling.

You're probaly right. I'm almost certain that back in the day, at the Parr Hall meeting re: the HJ, Peter Deakin made much the same comments - We could not generate revenue at Wilderspool because of poor facilities and at the same time the cost of keeping the place safe for use was exorbitant.

What England/GB could do with his services over the next decade. We've a world cup coming up. I'm worried that we go back to Rob Burrow (great SL player, but never really done it in a GB/england shirt).'"
You were on the ball re Eastmond having something on his Mind on Friday. Correct me if I am wrong but in 2007 - the series against New Zealand when we won the series 3-0 didn't Rob Burrow get the man of the match in the first game and the overall player of the series award?

| He did indeed, Chorley. He played well, against what was the weakest NZ side, to leave their shores for donkey's years. You could have put in an average SL half back, and they'd have looked like Peter Sterling/Andy Gregory in their pomp. NZ's pack got battered round all 4 corners of the field when they played GB in that series. THEY WERE DROSS (and if I remember correctly, wasn't our own Louis Anderson in that side, or did he miss the tour with injury?).
I wasn't having a pop at Burrow. I think he's a v good SL player. I just think he's not that been that great, when he been in the England jersey, since.
It sounds like Burrow is back in the England fold again, we need him to step up to international standard (can't see Myler getting picked ahead of him, unless he consistantly shines for the rest of the season)

That and loans from the directors.
Quote The move will make their cash flow infinitely better, as I would wager the cost of maintaining KR would have been crippling.'"
Correct on both counts. KR was a big black hole (well, it's going that way again now - the main stand is now almost demolished). Saints couldn't raise any funds there as the facilities were crap but they had to keep spending I think it was over £100,000 a month to keep it in safety certificates. The new stadium will provide other income streams that, over time, will hopefully pay off the directors' investments and turn the club around financially. Meanwhile, it will cost the club to play at Widnes as clearly Saints' fans aren't going to go there in big numbers but there are still rental costs and overheads to be paid (although in total that probably doesn't amount to the same figure as the cost of maintaining KR).
I didn't half miss KR on Friday though. No way will a new stadium be anything like as atmospheric as KR.
