Exactly, Westwood had a lucky escape there with the ref. That could have easily resulted in Westwood having a stigma that hung over him for the rest of his career, that in the last game for Morley, Briers, Carvell (and effectively Hodgson as a non-player) Westwood had singlehandedly blown the chance of that team winning a Grand Final.

Credit to Blake Green though as he was superb in that game.

We were quite a dirty team on that day. I'm sure I remember someone putting a swinging arm in on Pat Richards as well.

However the club seem to have an open secret that we were in for him. I'm not responsible for every rumour and its not my topic.

Yes exactly like that and a Wigan player purposely taking Ratchford completely out of the game and some of the next season with a cannonball tackle breaking his ankle. The worst piece of foul play in that game

Can't say I'm too disappointed, I wonder whether we've signed Austin instead, or whether we wanted to bring both in. Hopefully we will be able to utilise both marquee spots in 2019.

That thought £400,000 looks a bit picked out of the sky to me. I'd recon it's nearer the 3 than 4.

I though Darryl Clark was a marquee of yours?

It's been claimed on here by some that he is, my problem with that is Warrington have always announced a marquee player as 'marquee', Sandow, Roberts & Austin have all been given the tag in the press releases, I would have expected the same for Clark when we renewed his contract. That being the case, until I see a press release from the club that informs us Clark is a registered marquee player, I'm assuming he is not.

I don't think there is a requirement to announce any player as a marquee. Clubs discretion.

There absolutely isn't you are correct, it's just that Warrington always seem to have declared it, which makes me question it.

I will just always question it until I see confirmation from the club is all.

He could obviously have requested the club keep that status quiet, but I'm holding on to hope we can bring another in!

Daryl Clark is not and never has been a marquee signing. Only Sandow and Roberts have had that status.
