Don’t you think it’s a very good reason for talking about lack of consistency, lack of cohesion and why the team may not be clicking? Journalists ask questions - he answers them. There’s absolutely no getting away from the fact that injuries are playing a part in everything. Why is the team getting beat up the middle? Why is the spine not effective? Why isn’t our attack creating as much? Well I’d guess it’s that we have two halves that have played 3 games together and a rather largely inexperienced pack including 2 debutants this season.
How do you think Warrington would cope with 11 injuries to your front line squad?

Ask every Cas fan and I suspect you would get a different answer.
If all are fit: Jesse, Moors, Shenton, Gale, Millington, Cook and probably Foster given that Clark only seems to come in when we need an extra body.
Clare maybe over Minikin depending which way Powell favours.
Given Gale is out for the season then Ellis would be in.
Team would be: Mata’utia, Clare/Minikin, Blair, Shenton, Eden, Trueman, Gale, Watts, McShane, Millington, McMeeken, Jesse, Massey
Milner, Cook, Moors, Foster.

Murdoch-Masila is a lazy battering ram who couldn’t care less unless the ball is in the opposition 20, Lineham is a good player but hardly irreplaceable, Mamo is very average and Brown is just crap. Cas’ injuries far outweigh Warringtons. You should win this game by about 30.

Of course it's a factor and of course we'd struggle in the same situation, that's not the point.
Point being that Cas seem to be using it as an excuse, rather than trying to get on with it. It's almost as if the club are giving themselves a free-pass to lose. Sulking rather than rolling the sleeves up.
It's a difficult situation but not dire. I'd expect a better attitude if we had that many injuries.

Some years ago, I remember Dean Sampson coming out of retirement as Cas were short of players, at the HJS. Take nowt for granted.

A second choice winger
A stand off majority of you have and have screamed for him to be omitted anyway for 2 years
A decent but not irreplaceable winger
A flat track bully back rower who is AWOL unless you're steam rolling one of the bottom 4.
It's not quite the same is it, plus we haven't had 10 missing for a week or so, it's been pretty much since March, plus we've been very close in defeat in 3 games so I don't think the attitude can be questioned, it isn't like we've been torn to bits, apart from st Helens but we've all been there eh

| Ah, but you have not allowed for our walking wounded - players that will still be in the team, but are injured. So Declan Patton for instance is suffering from slapped cheek syndrome after Ben Currie had a word with him regarding his tackling after the Salford match. Even worse, Ryan Atkins has damaged the pical nerve sheath in his right elbow. So he can still hold the ball to his chest when he is running, but can't extend the arm in order to pass the ball. Then there are some of the forwards - they see their names on the team sheet for the coming week, but due to concussion-induced memory loss, fail to turn up. In reality, we are down to the bare bones of the playing squad its just that nobody knows because we don't talk about it every week.

| Some clubs seem to be persistently plagued by injury year after year, Hull Fc & Cas the two main culprits.
At some point surely questions have to be asked in terms of conditioning etc, or the players they are bringing in, otherwise the same thing will happen year after year.
As a great man once said, if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got.

I see, the issue isn't whether they are in the 1st 17, it's whether you rate them or not. Frankly I suspect you wouldnt give the rest of our squad a glowing reference either.
Just to help me though, of your 10 missing how many are 1st 17? Does the signing of Chaise Longue mean that 1 of the 10 now drops off your list?

Goodwin is a NZ international was a mainstay of the Souths team, and Atkins was one of SL's most prolific attacking centres (and even though he isn't as effective these days would still get in above a lot SL centres).
Is Mamo as good as Percival, Gildart, King, Shenton, Tupou? Of course not. He's an above-average backline player who can cover positions 1-5. I'm not sure what your point is? Do you want me to praise Saints entire squad and claim them to be better man-for-man than any other team? You were better last year but failed to win either trophy, just as we failed to.

Not true. I rate your team. You have some exceptional players, Austin, Charnley, Clark , Currie, hill. I think Goodwin is immensely underrated.
Of our players missing the crux are either centres / forwards or pivots. Centre is a huge position in RL especially the defensive element. You can't get down field and boss your opponents without forwards getting on top and you can't create owt without your pivots working well.
Shenton/ Foster / Holmes are defensive work horses. 2 of which play centre.
Moors, Millington, Cook, Jessie SL are forwards who chew up metres and get us rolling down field.
Gale / Rankin are the pivots. I reckon 9 of them could make claims for the first team.
Ellis and Clare wouldn't be first choice but I'd still rather have Ellis than Aston for example and Ellis would be a better goal kicker than our full back who hadn't kicked a professional goal untill last month.
I also do wonder about why us and hull pick up a lot of injuries and if there's something in that.
