No, with you there. There are some outlandish allegations made against the club in that post however, that reflect really badly on the club. They could easily take legal action if they considered them not to be true. It's going to be interesting to see how Warrington respond, if they do at all.

The allegation that McGuire played with head knocks and was told not to report them is scandalous in this day and age and with the heightened awareness of concussion issues and long term damage caused. Also, him having no feeling in his hand from a shoulder injury the club refused to scan in case they found an injury is a big allegation. Having seen how well Warrington treat the junior academy players at the club, I highly doubt there is any less focus on welfare in the first team. The suggestion that the club was unprofessional in not sending through the players supporting statements to the tribunal is something club will be unhappy about if not true as well.

I don't think this is over either. There will be a lot said once McGuire gets back to Australia no doubt.

Garbage accusations that the club won’t waste time responding to. Saddened also knows they’re garbage but can’t contain his veiled glee in repeating them. Pathetic. Suppose it keeps the idiot off the RFL conspiracy though which weirdly seems to have died a death since an upturn in saints’ form.

I personally think this statement is very weak.



No mention of the club distancing itself from the remarks, or mention of standards it upholds - nothing.

There was probably an agreement in place with both parties or there respective legal teams about the statement and they are usually short.

There is nothing to stop the club releasing a follow statement article about its inclusivity though.

I also naively thought that the delay was so they could get something on a replacement.

Indeed. I don't believe the club would act like that. Mr Maguire is just sticking up for his son I guess and is lashing out.

McGuire didn’t need to have said anything the second time, even whispering ‘sorry Joel’ would have been so dumb and left himself open to a set up! Just keep his mouth shut and all would have been kosher for everyone….!

It comes down to what I said the other week in various forms and posts regarding this.
I had said that the responsibility of this comes down to Darryl Powell and the coaching staff to protect his players from anything that may arise.
Josh mcguire in the leaving him out of the leigh game. This would have protected him from anything that would have arisen and made sure that there would be no repeat of the pre season game.
I also extended this to the gil dudson red card at catalans. If what happened with Tom Johnstone is true. And that he did indeed sleep with dudsons wife as is rumored. I would protect dudson from himself and have left him at home for the catalan match and live to fight another day.

2 separate times in which the coaching staff. And in particular daryll Powell should have addressed and acted on the situation to not only protect the players involved. But also the club and the integrity of everyone.
