The key is, if Johnson turned up and watched a match then fine, you just do what you do, but the club went out of their way to use a hospital visit to get a photo op with a man who is highly divisive at the very least, especially in the north.

If starmer or lucas etc turned up then again, roll with it.

Johnson turns up at places, 3 or 4 times a day. PMs do this. It's routine. I've not seen this as either good or bad publicity for the club. It's chip paper, now, anyway

It's not whataboutery, the whole reason for Johnson's visit was hospital-related. Our Conservative MP, who accompanied him, is lobbying for a new hospital. Him getting a positive impression of the town makes it more likely for that to happen, regardless of the fact a new hospital for us is well overdue.

As I said, things are never that black or white but I mentioned in my first post in this thread where my vote went. But I think that is irrelevant here. We live in a democracy and this country, and this town, gave him more votes than anyone else.

I just find it hard to be angry at the club for a photo op with the man the town voted for.
