| We played in a very attritional way 1st half, ground them down, a very NRL-like performance, 2nd half our blatantly obvious superior fitness just kept the score board ticking over.
We are playing a little smarter this season, Gids taking the 2 when we were 12 points up was, at the time, a very sensible option.
Atkins when he came on was like a man possessed.
2 games so far, and 2 games in which we have looked the fitter side and that has won us the game.
Half time? We came out and warmed up, first time I've seen that.

| First home game today, really enjoyed it, nice ground, everyone friendly and helpful . Quiet atmosphere or is that what it is like most weeks? Good attendance. Thought sandow and gidley class acts. Bennie got through a lot of work and Russell did well good runs from the back

| Quote ="Burtons Forearm"Thaler bums us every time. Was reported to the rfl by his linesman for stating we'd never win a game he reffed again when Morgan was our coach. We've won one in 8 seasons since.
Clark looks better for having some half backs this year. He'll be a different player with some room to run.
Good luck rest of the year.'"
Cheers Mr Forearm thought the score line flattered us a bit although you never really threatened the win and we were held up 4 or 5 time I wouldn't write off your season just yet as we added quite a few points near the end after Gidley doing a very un-Warrington like 'taking the two'.
Get some of your players back and today would haven't been a 30 point game.

You must have seen a different Atkins than me, couple of mistakes when he came on.

| No I saw that first drive knock on, but saw positive signs regardless of that, he looked hungry, not in a Keiron Cunningham way either.

Maybe so and I think that we have real togetherness about us too and a bit of strength in depth but for me they also looked a bit threadbare obviously Campese and Mantellato were missing I'm not sure who else but those two back at Craven Park and I'd be really impressed with plus 30

| Sandow is fast becoming my favourite player....has that spark that all good teams need to open up defences .....added to his fantastic kicking game....he's really starting to fulfil his huge potential

| I think part of our fitness is backs doing a lot of forwards work, it means those guys last longer, a real team effort with the energy levels.
One set we had Russell, Lineham, Evans, Russell taking in drives, Russell and Lineham as strong as any forward you'll see too.
Our forwards look fit in the back ends of games.

| Great to have decent half backs, i went to the corresponding fixture last year and it was dreadful, aimless kicks and no fluidity in attack. This year, proper kicking game, and although room for improvement with our attacking plays you can see the shape and the ideas, just lacking in sharpness. Sandow is looking class , gidley organising, think we'll be there abouts this year

| Some very good stuff and some very average stuff around the edges. But for me the key is we look like we are developing some really exciting combinations and lots of players appear to be doing what we hoped they would do, e.g Sandow, Evans, Clark. We also look very, very fit.
Also thought KR were pinged for lots of marginal penalties. I think we paid their defence real respect by taking the 2 when leading 16-4 and camped on their line.

| Plus Points
Gidley and Sandow in the halves. We now have a PAIRING of equal stature, not Briers plus ANOther
Sandow's vision for that 40/20. I don't think I've seen one as early in a match, before.
Lineham. Humble Pie time for LG. I scratched my head when we signed him (for a big fee, too) Those two corner flag tries were SUPERB
A great pack display. I know HKR were pretty indisciplined, but they were hardly ever in our half, let alone our 20M area.
Rhys sickbed Evans getting up after a heavy knock.
Cox's ball running in (no innuendo intended)
HKR's no. 17 being a slower runner than Joe Brand in a Mr Blobby suit
Sandow's pass for Lineham's 3rd try. Worth the admission money alone
The right hand side of the South Stand singing "It's always our year" near the end
Minus Points
Thaler's constant pedantic interruptions. I know teams transgress, but please not on every set of 6, does there have to be a penalty. I don't pay £21 to watch some Yorkshire wazzock do Ronnie Ronald impressions.
That LOVING trumpet call (the one they've nicked from the cricket) played over the tannoy every 5 minutes. It makes my pooh itch.
...and naturally, the drums.
On a general theme, I don't think we're fitter this season. I just think the side are a damn site more interested in the game, than they've been since the 2013 GF. Apply yourself properly and with focus, you'll win a lot more than you lose.
Well done, Wire

| It was bit of a strange game. First 20 was good, then the last bit of the first half and first bit of the second was a bit of a yawn. I found myself playing with the tassle on the bobble hat of the lady in front of me. Fortunately her husband didn't seem to mind. Then during the last 20, KR really started to run out of puff and we put points on the board. Meanwhile the ref never penalised KR for any of their offsides, but also seemed happy to let Sandow go around pushing over KR players (without the ball).
Currie didn't quite match his Leeds display, and Evans missed a couple of tackles, one of which proved expensive. But he does seem to be able to get Lineham away with the ball. Bennie was well worth his MOM I thought, and Sandow appears to be loving the free rein he is being given in the English game. Despite GidleySandow, we still seem a bit clueless in attack sometimes. And there was a fair few errors, elegantly hidden by the even greater number of KR errors, including one free kick to touch that went straight to a grateful Penny.
KR had lost a lot of players prior to the match and in truth, we should have won more comfortably than we did. Perhaps we will find out where we stack up when we visit Salford and Catalan in March.

| Don't want to get too carried away.
Sandow was real class - from the 40/20 to the 30m pass out to Lineham for his 3rd try. Defence was very good too.
Clark played very well and was excellent for his try.
Gidley never looked like he'd miss a kick - and (as I don't know any more) was stupid with the professional foul (Very unlike him and unusual).
I don't think we played consistently well but really HKR didn't look like winning.
HKR have a fairly thin squad and with key players missing they were always going to be up against it. And that's why we mustn't get carried away.
The 'fitness' thing is partly down to the fact we had a lot more ball than Rovers from what I could see (but v Leeds it did look like there was more desire as much as fitness improvements).
We gave away too many needless penalties and had the rub of the green on a couple of occassions (was Linehams' 2nd try a bounce?).
We also seemed to want to score of nearly every set which led to errors.
Calmer heads need to prevail - (especially against the top teams, although I wouldn't want us going to the other extreme ie Wigoon with so much set play).
Atkins cocked up a couple of times but was also a handful with the ball taking defenders with him.
Penny didn't have a particularly good hame from why I could see. (Couple of difficult chances, and was out of position which led to a Rovers pen kick just going into touch. Give Albert Kelly his due though - he spotted it).
Sandow was my mom.

| I think Penny missed a couple of scoring opportunities because Currie didn't draw the man before passing or the defender didn't fall for it.

| Penny overran one and Currie passed behind him on one, a forward pass on another.
Given a late pass and no time to cut inside going into touch too.
One thing i did remember was the amount of times we crossed only to be held up, we realy could have done a proper number on these today.

to be fair you have to be a bit of an Atkins Hater to not see the difference in his running when he came on.
to pick up on a dropped ball after a tremendous run is a bit churlish given the amount of ball the team put to ground today....
I liked Currie in the last week but I'm not sure he managed to complete a pass to his winger today....he also missed a very simple tackle in the first half and both he and penny did well to track back and get the man.
So it was good to see Atkins come on and play like he knew his position was no longer guaranteed...
strength in depth like I've not seen since 1986.

To be honest it was a bobble and a furry one at that, I actually think that Charlie Boy is underselling it by referring to it as a mere tassle

| Thought we played some stuff that was very pleasing to the eye at some points. I was worried that we hadn't scored enough in the first half, and we didn't, but we came out for the second half and did what we needed to well. Room for improvement still, we weren't always perfectly on song in attack but Sandow had a fantastic game. Westwood rolled back the years in the pack and Matty Russell also had a very bright game. A nice break next week will be welcome but I can't wait to get stuck into Wakefield. We really should be putting them to the sword, no offence to them.

The pass I saw was all Curries fault. He passed it to the ankle of Penny. Currie held up his hands.
