I hope he does too. He sounds very bitter when he's talking about Wigan.

| It'll be a great move for him and I expect to see him kick on. He makes too many errors but there's no doubt he can play. He's a big athlete and can certainly cause teams plenty of problems.
It'll add a bit of spice to our games next year which is always good.

| Well if my memory serves my right, I'm sure I'll be corrected if it hasn't, he was the fallguy, forfeited by the Pies to get their hands on Larne Patrick, and they had just got Bateman, so perhaps he feels let down and paid the price because of Ben Flower.
It's not as if his form was shaat before he got injured, bringing back Joel Tomkins must have sealed his exit more perminatly than what he was meant to believe.
Put it this way he's developed into a great backrower although not as good as Bateman, he's a shaat load better than Joel Tomkins.
I think we have fell on our feet with JH, Ben flower's punch was probably the best terrible act of sportsmanship our club had ever benefited from.

Just looked and he's only made 15 handling errors this season (4 came against Wakefield), most of the time he doesn't make a handling error.
When I've watched him he does run quick and strong, he's also 7th in the top tackler count so he works hard in that department too.

Believe me from somebody who's watched both and like to think I give pretty balanced opinions-Jack Hughes isn't in Joel Tomkins class but he could be in time if he continues to develop.
He was behind four better players at Wigan and he's admitted it himself. He's young though and he's already improved from playing a full season at Huddersfield.

Although J Tomkins is not my fav player by any means he is a better player than Hughes, but then given his age and experience he should be. If JH can get to that level then he will have done well, wherever he plays.

| The problem with Hughes is that his passing and decision making is very poor and has been since he was 16. I thought it was something that could have been coached out of him and MAYBE it can. It's a similar problem that Russell had and still has. Both are very good athletes, whether they will ever be very good rugby players remains to be seen.

| Always interesting to get an opinion on players from a Wigan perspective. Rogues cannot overcome his natural Wigan bias and usually points a negative viewpoint rather than a positive not that I am dismissing his view as I have not seen enough of the player - however, passing and decision making are not key features of Ben Westwood's game either so am not too concerned.
I always take note of Nicky Kiss' posts on the other hand who genuinely does have balanced opinions and well considered rugby knowledge.

| With everyone fit I can't see past Hughes and Currie in the second row with, as has been mentioned a few times, Westwood moving into prop. It's a shame, though made up for him, that Mike Cooper is doing so well and enjoying life enough to want to stay in Australia.

| Good signing this.
I do worry though if we do not look to improve our front row options. If we go in to 2016 with what we have, plus internal shifts, I really think we'll continue to disappoint.

| JH has the potential to be a top player but like previous posters have mentioned he makes rash decisions when he makes a break. Tbf to the lad though it's his athletic ability and running good lines which creates the breaks.
If he can stop the odd handling error he could become a top class SR he reminds me of Luke Lewis with his speed and line running.

His error rate seems pretty standard to be honest, compares favourably to Tomkins & Bateman at any rate. Hopefully the decision making & execution following breaks will improve with a little more experience.

I aim to please!
In truth you've got a good player in Hughes but a player that can frustrate. Rogues is close to the money is likening him to Russell because both are supreme athletes but because if that their skills have probably been a little neglected as juniors.
Somebody pointed out a lack of errors this year from Hughes and that's a huge step in the right direction for him because I've always said if he can fix that he could be England class in time. To have a back rower with size and pace is rare and it's now just about taking off the rough edges. I remember watching him score 4 try's for the England Knights against Samoa at Salford prior to the World Cup warm up (England vs Italy) and thinking he was ready to kick on but his chances became limited. You don't score 4 try's against opposition of that class without having plenty about you. We never helped him by switching him between second row and centre. He is simply never a centre.

He's getting a bit old to still be talking about potential.
His game on Thursday against Wigan was a typical Hughes performance. Scored an impressive try (running over two backs), bombed a try (running straight in to Bowen when put clean through) and at fault for the two Farrell breaks (which both lead to tries).
Solid SL player, but nothing more.

| i agree hughes in not a centre
not seen many handling errors from his this season though
workhorse who gets through alot of tackling and very solid, attack not the best but still young and as ive said would have liked to keep him at the giants but the travelling to hudds wasnt helping and warrington is near to his home.
