| Myler is a good supporting half but not a lead half. Worked well with Briers as lead.
I thought he would have stepped up, but to be a lead half (and a youngish one) you've got to be a niggly little sod with lots of cheek to boss hardened pros with up to 10 more experience - like a Danny Brough.
Myler isn't that and I think doesn't feel comfortable in that role.
FWIW I'm not sure GOB / Patton are either but that could change if they learn from the new halves.
So whilst it's sad to see him go I think that if Sandow is as 'spunky' as is said it'll be a step forward.
Thanks for all your efforts Richie.

Yes, there have been flashes of high quality play. The most memorable one must surely be the kick through at Wembley that left Hall stranded and an open try line for Monaghen - well, it was for me anyway. But they were like distant oasis in a desert, and it seems to me that Smith / Moran have finally had enough and given up on him.
I also get the feeling that Smith has woken up from a long slumber and we are seeing a big clear out at the HJ. Gone is the 'lets be patient' approach, although I suppose if you pay big money for imports like Lineham and Gidley, possibly the Sandyman as well, you can not afford to carry players that are either injured all the time, or simply not producing the goods. That could mean GOB and Wheeler might be on their way as well Asotasi and the rumoured Bridge to Widnes. Who is going to be next ?

I remember thinking it was Briers until I got round to watching it again the next day.

| As I've said, COUNTLESS times before, he would be a lot bet better player, if he only took the line on, more often. Too many times, he's got rid of the ball too soon, which gives your opposition more time to anticipate plays.
Myler is one of the best supporting players (in a P&B shirt) I've seen in the last few decades, and, has one of the best defensive games for a player in the halves. He's had loads of great games for us, but typical human nature for some, they'll recall the bad ones, sooner.
His kicking game is good at best, yet, his kick for MonaghanJ was Briersesque in the 2012 CCF
Did he fulfil his transfer fee (it was big)? Probably not for me.
If he goes, I'll miss him.
Skelton will have to get that Blue Peter dog in quarantine, then.

| Will be sad to see him go. I think 2011-13 he was one of our best players. His support play and his defence were exceptional and we benefitted greatly from both.
But it is the right time to freshen our halves up now. So I wish him all the best.

| He was a big money signing, he is probably on a fair whack, thanks for all your efforts and all the best.
I get the feeling the management are going to make the most of all the exciting young players we have coming through. A handful of quality experienced players and a load of brilliant young players eager to impress. This group of players coming through now really do look the part. It's a luxury we have never had and the exact reason the club has invested so heavily in the youth setup.
Can't wait to see this side next season.

Absolutely THIS and never agreed with the 'haters'
Overall sorry to see him go I had visions of his support play paying massive dividends this year on the back of Clark and Hill rampaging forward....there's still time

| I will be sorry to see Richie go but going to the dragons, for me, is better than going to Leeds etc. Monas will bring out best in him. Good luck but not when wire come over.

Agreed. I think lots of us expected/hoped he would step up to be our lead half after Briers retired, though it has become abundantly clear he just isn't the same sort of player - not a dig at Myler, just an observation. I doubt Leeds would have expected McGuire to take on Sinfield's role had Sinfield jacked it in a couple of years ago.
I wish him well - the times I've seen him, he's always looked like he gave a , at least.

| I have a feeling that Myler will probably play some of the best RL he's ever played over the next 3 months.
