Not nicked from Poznan as loads of eastern European teams do it. It's not cringey when these teams do it as it really means something to them and is usually backed up with a song or chant that can go on for ages and ages.

The cringey bit is singing about doing it, then doing it for a couple of minutes, then patting yourself on the back and making out like you've just done the coolest thing ever (see also, 'bounce in a minute').

in the 80's, you'd sing every players name to one of a few generic tunes, especially before the match. Nowadays, everyone expects a different song for every player, which results in only a couple being invented and sung.

I watch the Grand Final Gold program last night and it was the two games between Leeds and Bradford from 2004 and 2005. There were air horns going off the whole game, it sounded dreadful.
