After what has been said on the Wigan Site in the past about both Nathan Brown and Tony Smith moaning about referees in the past, that is highly embarrassing, especially as the two most controversial incidents involved fouls by a Wigan player. Maybe this is doing things the Wigan way.
Of the other things that have been mentioned, Briers was 10 metres back, he was in line with the TJ who was marking the 10. The penalty against Charnley was debatable, but in my opinion it wasn't a real attempt to go for the ball and with the position he was in he didn't have a hope in hell of catching it. The penalty where Hodgson is alleged to have moved the ball forward for the penalty kick is interesting. If you watch it again you'll see that the incident happens 3-4 metres further back from where the kick was taken from, however Silverwood speaks to the Wigan player on the 40 metre line and then signals the penalty in that position. So Hodgson actually does nothing wrong.
