Is there any possibility that with the situation now verging on the ridiculous, that the RFL will move the game?

I know it would be short notice to say the very least, but I don't see the real harm in pushing the back to the Monday/Tuesday evening. Gate receipts would in all likelihood take a hit, but the extra day or so's rest would allow some of the participants in the game to play, and we'd still have a good rest ahead of Hull KR.

We've started flogging tickets for this game (promos as well), so it looks like it's going ahead as planned

Regarding the number of players per club - the only thing that has been confirmed is that the Exiles won't use more than 3 players from one club. But, Eddie Hemmings said on Boots N all a couple of weeks ago that he'd heard suggestion that there may be an agreement between the two sides not to use more than 4 players per club between them, i.e 3 on the Exiles then 1 for England, or 2 on each, or 1 England and 3 in Exiles. That would be sensible and much fairer.

It can't be right that we face the prospect of 9 of our players featuring in this game and none from Salford. It's all very well saying we should be strong enough to beat them but we've already shown a few times this season that we are capable of underpar performance (i.e. Hull and Catalans) without being handicapped in this way.

Good point about Riley - even before the injuries, you'd have thought he'd have been a certainty for the Salford game.

The injury to Rhys Evans is a blow and obviously he was 100% when the months loan for Riles was agreed. I'm sure I heard that there is an agreement between all the clubs concerned and Red Hall that there would be a limit on the amount of players used from any one club. We might have 9 selected for the two squads but I wouldn't expect any more than 5 would actually play. Either way some of our players involved at Headingley will feature against Salford.

Worst case scenario (i.e. Higham two match ban, McCarthy and Mitchell not available, I'll go with Louis not getting into Exiles), but assuming no more injuries, I can barely get a team together....

This game should be played at the start or end of season if at all. With so many players from our club, and competitive nature of this game, i
really fear for the well being of our players and feel it's entertainment at our expense. They should at least limit the number of england players
to 3 like the exiles.This game would have been great during the era of wigan or saints' dominance but not now. I really don't care for the result,
just that all our players remain fit.

That looks worrying if this was the real squad we had going out.

I can't see Myler playing for England either, Clarke to 9 Richie to 7.

I would expect Atkins, Myler and Carvell to not play in the Exiles game

Mick Monas at interchange hooker for the exiles should be fine to back up, Louis not selected, Carvell and Atkins not to play.
Morley + Hodgson rested for Salford, Westwood and King to back up.

Exiles game should either be a midweek game (as are the SOO games) or it should have been played last Friday with all the weekend SL games being played on Bank Holiday Monday. The Exiles game is likely to be far more intense than a game against France or Wales and to then expect a team to then have to double up 5, 6 or 7 players, especially against a team unaffected is ridiculous.

The timing of this game is stupid really for teams really contending for top and play offs,

Yeah its shame on out hopes if nearly all our bet players are out/or not fit.

We have never won super league and for me its No.1 especially with TS is charge and the squad being as good as we are at the minute.

We have done really well getting where we are,im not taking anything for granted though.

I've been thinking about this SLIM. When we play on a Sunday what do the players do on a Tuesday? Do they go and have a massage and Jacuzzi? Or do they have a full on training session. I'm not suggesting that the Salford game will be a training session, but I do think too much has been made of 'doubling up'. Looking around the sporting world you would be hard pressed to find better athletes than professional RL players. With clever use of the interchange, I don't see much of a problem.

Agree with most of that Yed, but why can't Bridge play both games? I've never understood 'resting' any of the backs.
