Quote ="Steve51"I'm saying we should have the best team available to do the job in hand. How many times do you hear Smith say we're not thinking past this week.
The reasons for resting players in RL are completely different to football, due to physical differences & having 2 games a week and a 60 game season. Yes you should rest players occasionally as we have, not have a plan to do it because of a 60 game season playing twice a week for 10 months.
Thank God you're not a manager when you're idea of instilling confidence in a team & momentum is to say "well we're not all that & have no faith in you doing well in both competitions, so I'm going to juggle the team to target one or the other".
Sadly this is the second time I've had to ask this ... IS the ISWT truth or just rubbish spouted for the sake of it.
"Oooh I'm worries about Catalans"
"Oooh we never do well away at Wakey"
"Oooh we need to rest players as we're still too crap to have second place in our own hands, and to win the Cup"
Supporters support, critics criticise.'"
Do you really believe that Smith won't be thinking about Wembley? His team selection this week will confirm that. Yes, we want to do well in both competitons, but resting three players is hardly criminal, the team I have posted is still strong enough to beat Hull IMO. Che has been resting players prior to the CCQF/CCSF.
