Not as straightforward as that IMO. That decision could have gone either way and it would have been equally justified whichever way it went.

However, from a neutral's POV, Wire gave that game away. Their tackling just after Briers went off was atrocious and gifted the Pies two tries in about five minutes. There was no getting back from that even with the resurgence in the final 10 minutes or so. Pity about Solomona's effort though. He came so close and I would have preferred Wire to win than the Pies. But whether Wire deserved to win after giving away such a huge lead is up for debate.

We weren't robbed by the VR, we had loads of chances to win the game and kept blowing them. Very frustrating considering we dominated the first half. Wigan came alive in the 2nd half and we didn't play anywhere near out potential.

Wigan won their cup final and the way they were celebrating you'd think they'd won the league. A competitive win was long overdue at the HJ and they deserved it. But putting it into context it is only the 3rd game of the season. Its a marathon, not a sprint.

Not robbed, we should have killed the game at 16-4, some of the VR decisions may have been dodgy, but I'd have to see them again. Penalties were wrongly given both ways, and I think errors lost us the game (Bridge's knock on from the 40/20 being one of the main ones).

Why is it that people are so PARTISAN that they suddenly develop the ability to forget the rules and lose complete vision and miss the blatantly bloody obvious. Silverspud had a good game, the roberts try was touch and go but in all honesty VERY hard to call. Solomona did drop the ball. I was jumping round the room, then saw the replay and instantly knew it wasn't a try before he called it.

I dont think we were robbed that kick from the litlle from wigan deserved to win the game, we had m,any chances and blew it, for 10mins after briers went off we didnt no what we were doing and that lost us the game and tbh the best team won (just) i feel the had less errors and attacked the line better after the lead at half time we should of put the game to bed and well we just didnt. and for all you wigan fans you can peak too soon

I'm no fan of Bentham but even I have to concede that he was spot on in all his decisions. Tonight, anyway!

Give over! Gleeson is entitled to support his team mate going forward which is all he was doing, the fact Matt King was running to the same space in order to get to the man with the ball is immaterial. Gleeson did not intentionally obstruct King and the VR got it spot on. All the officials were superb tonight and contributed greatly to a wonderful match, shame there had to be a loser and a draw would have been better for us anyway!!!!

Don't look for excuses, you had a commanding lead and let Wigan blow you away just after half time, great entertainment tonight don't let your blinkered view spoil what was on offer tonight.

FWIW I don't think we were robbed, Briers' injury just knocked us a bit off-kilter and by the time we got our heads together and Monas came back on it was too late. God knows what will happen if we lose Briers and Monas long-term. We should never have allowed them to score those 18 points in the second half.

On saying that [inobody ever[/i will make me think that Gleeson blocking Matt King was a legal play. Should have been a disallowed try. Only decision all night I can honestly say was drastically wrong and that was the VR at fault. There was lying-on and high hits on both sides that went un-penalised.

So the result wasn't what we wanted, and whilst we dominated most of the first half, the second half was Wigan's. However all up:

Balls. Complete and utter balls. Gleeson is a very clever player and knew exactly what he was doing. There is no way the position he got himself into was ready to 'support the player'. He quite simply got in King's way to stop him getting underneath the ball.
