| Quote ="Gaz_E"Myler has definitely stepped up a level this year. He said TS had told him to take the line on more, which we have seen in both scoring and creating tries. I think that was the one thing that was lacking. Previously it was a bit more 'get it, give it'. Developing nicely.
As for Koukash our favourite Aussie wind-up merchant League Freak got it spot on. The need a better structure off-field in place and a decent coach - Tim Sheens & Brian Smith are both available. I reckon either would come if Koukash threw enough money at them, the other side is both are respected NRL coaches which would hold some sway with NRL players (likely fringe) one wanting more first grade games. What were we lacking a few years back? Yep, that's right, a decent coach.'"
Interesting analysis by League Freak. Salford is very much a 'shell' and will take a minimum of 6-7 yrs probably to re-build. But the problem Koukash has got is that the SL franchise period ends in 2014. He needs short term fixes AND long term planning / development.

| Re Koukash
I'll do my Mystic Meg crystal ball act.
I can see a lot of 31 year old Aussies (with SoO/ a Test or two experience), who are out of contract at the end of the year, who "fancy a crack at Pommie Super League", emerging in the next few months. Salford need to tread VERY carefully, and use their chequebook wisely, otherwise, Mr Koukash may get p155ed off, very quickly

| Not sure if Mr Koukash is a serial wind-up merchant, likes to push peoples buttons a bit or just naive but he must realise that it will take 5-6 years at best from the very bottom up to even get Salford into a consistent top 6 team.
If he's just trying to get press attention with talk of offers for Tomkins and Morley he's succeeding and good luck to him for that (god knows RL needs all the press it can get), but judging by the attendance for the HKR game I think the Salford public are taking some convincing.

| In relation to Dr Koukash it will be interesting to see who he gets in over the next month or so. I wouldn't imagine it to be anyone significant. Please don't attack me here but he could bid for Briers for next season by offering more than Warrington are willing to pay him due to age etc. It's only a suggestion and o e made with a view of giving Salford longer to recruit players from the NRL or even SL clubs.
By the way I've just realised this is a Myler thread and he's been great so far this season. Long may it continue.

| Briers salary only counts half on the cap due to the 10 year rule, can't see Salford being able to offer over double what we can.

Perhaps that's the first part all be it a very small part of the Koukash 'mission' accomplished?

The 'wrath' as you may have guessed related to another thread, if not here's a clue, I was just 'joshing' Mr Teesside
Happy for you to start up a wingers thread, I'm pleased to report that my opinion has been changed, not by posters on here necessarily but by a noticeable improvement in performance IMO In fact I thought I'd already eaten my slice of humble pie?
BTW I learned my lesson from my earlier 'banter' with you and will never dare miss your second 's' again

Thought we paid around £300k for him? Only bit of 'poaching' for Myler was from Widnes to Salford wasn't it?

Back to your original post, the one where you mentioned that you were cracked up. Well I've re read the thread and can't see much evidence of complaining on it?
Observations yes some even in support of your club but not much in the way of complaining.
Perhaps it's not just talent that you are supposedly good at spotting?

| dont get me wrong.... im all for people making bids and buying players.. But when salford made a bid for tomkins.. i didnt know whether to laugh or laugh even more... i suppose its getting them publicity, which must be the aim.
I'm expecting a a 'big money' move for Billy Slater next.

It also depends on the fee that helped your club limp along for a bit longer. How much did you pay Widnes for him?

Well according to salford fans, they're one and the same thing if you listen to all the moaning about myler AND RAtchford.

| Interesting you say that Horatio. I know a Salford fan who, at the time, said we had signed the wrong one and should have signed Ratchford. Not to worry, we have them both now !!

| I also remember how the Saints fans laughed at us for signing Myler because they had Eastmond.
Myler has gone from strength to strength since then and Eastmond faded away into obscurity.

Having about as much interest in the lower bowel movement of the whelk, as I do in the 3 point code, I take it Eastmond's rah-rah career has been a bit of a damp squib then, Sally.
I've not heard his name mentioned, when the sports bit of the news has been on, so I take it he's not figured in the 6 Nationzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

| Eastmond could be a potential Salford signing. He's an Oldham lad and I'm sure living down in the Bath area is nice but he'd want to be at home where he is comfortable and not cold waiting for fat people to pass him the ball so he can kick it as far as possible down field or even into the stands. From the little we've seen of Lomax (after all, he's still a relatively young lad), he reminds me a little of Kevin Ellis (when he got up to speed with our game). Devastating against inferior teams/opposition scrum halves, but when it came to a better scrum half/team, he was regularly found wanting. I'm sure there's more to come from Lomax, he just needs to apply himself better

| Saints fans have been crying out for Lomax at FB for weeks and one good performance later they think they've got a new Billy Slater.
All I know is, if he is playing FB when Wires meet them in a few weeks my gameplan would be simple - high ball, bomb him off the park.
