I know enough about, and had enough dealings with, employment law that I know you can't just fire someone on the basis of a lone, witness-less complaint from an ex-employee, who has a gripe against both your business and the individual he's complaining about.

And you know without any doubt that there's nothing in McGuire's contract that states any lengthy ban or multiple lengthy bans dished out by the governing body could result in dismissal. Or if found guilty of using foul and offensive language by said governing body it would be considered gross misconduct. Fascinating.

Any RL player signing a contract with those terms and conditions probably needs to find himself a new agent.

Sorry DSM , I don’t want to come across all know-it-all but it is not ‘witness less”. Charnley is a witness. It may be uncorroborated,but that isn’t fatal to a dismissal or even a conviction come to that.
As to grounds for dismissal a clause allowing for dismissal where the employer is brought into disrepute by the actions of its employee is fairly standard and i would be amazed if nothing along those lines were included in Maguire’s contract.

It's an indictment of today's society that there are people protesting the ban.
There's enough evidence from the first instance to dismiss him. If his contract doesn't incorporate a "gross misconduct" clause I would be amazed. He has clearly breached that requirement.
As for restraint of trade, do me a favour. He's breached his contract. End of discussion.

After listening to DP media comments on Wire TV, I read into it, undertones that the career of McGuire relies on what decision McGuire decides to take.

My hunch is,…
Don’t appeal, get dismissed,
Appeal, with credible evidence (which DP’s body language gave the impression he doesn’t think that will be forthcoming), and get a quash or big reduction in the suspension, and keep your job.
As long as there is that chance of appeal, the club will give him the time.
If by Thursday he hasn’t appealed…he’ll get dismissed.

Reading between the lines, that’s how I see it.

There is that chance he may have done, but unfortunately for McGuire, Charnley didn’t lie during the first suspension!

There's no future for McGuire at Warrington when he's been found guilty of inappropriate language twice. If he had done that in many work places, he'd be on very thin ice, if not on his way out.

However, never mind the legalities and the employment situation, I don't want someone who thinks that sort of behaviour is acceptable at my club.

Yeah i'd say he's off then, if he does indeed go he's not a player i think i'll forget we signed for a long long time. Genuinely never seen anything like it.
Hopefully we can find a quality replacement for him, which i think will be next year as we are struggling to sign someone for this year. Mikaele left about 10 weeks ago now and Powell keeps saying nothing is even close at the minute.

I’ve just seen a post allegedly from his father Adam that’s blaming everyone but his son. Basically Charnley is a rat he denies saying anything along the lines of what was reported and the Club should have backed him up but didn't implying that his departure was engineered by the club through a lack of support.

Let's be honnest. Still nothing official. But if he has gone. I hope he sues the crap out of the rfl.
Do you really think that they were going to actually give him a fair appeal. Not a chance. It would have gone to another judge and 2 more ex players. (Likely a wigan and saints ex player) who would listen to maguire would have said. And then immediately throw it out as a fritholous appeal. (Much like we didn't appeal the first one because they would of just increased the penalty without justification) they were always going to make a example of this and nothing maguire could or would have said would have made any difference. It was always going to be given irrespective of actual facts. The only way that this would be sorted and expunged maguire is to tell the facts and his version of events to a court of law. An employment tribunal if you like. Bring charnley in to tell his side of the story. And unlike in the rfl disciplinary hearing. In both rfl disciplinary hearings. There is no actual evidence to place blame on maguire in either of the disciplinary cases. (Read the reports.) The first one. The referee thinks he heard it. (Not enough to actually conclusively say it happened) and the 2nd one. They have relied solely on charnleys account. Dispite 2 witnesses from warrington who corroborate that he only called charnley a rat. Again in the first instance. It's 50/50 at best. And the 2nd incident is more 60/40 in favour to maguire during to the corroboration of 2 players Character witnessing the incident for maguire. Nothing in anything is conclusive.
So the rfl have made a example of someone without conclusively having 100% of the facts. The guy will now probably lose his career and livelihood as a result of 1 person eirh a axe to grind against the club. And maguire has grounds to have his name restored to how it was before either instance. Especiallywith rhe lack of actualevidence that would actually be relevent in a employment tribunal.
Lastly. I don't blame him. Even if he is innocent for not appealing. Like I said. They eere never going to change their minds. No matter how much evidence maguire has to the contrary. I'd do the same thing. Booka flight home. He has been treated apaulingly and disgustingly by the rfl. Innocent until proven guilty. More like a kangaroo court. And maguire was the rfls whipping boy.
Hopefully. Maguire makes the rfl his whipping boy.

(Someone change my kind. Because unless more details are released officially. The rfl actualky release the full minutes un redacted or video evidence either in the disciplinary or maguire actually saying what charnley is alleging. Nothing in the first 2 reports leads me to the conclusion maguire Is guilty.)

In the 71st minute of the game, Warrington Wolves number 11 Ben Currie scored a try. After the try was awarded numerous players from both sides came together exchanging insults. At this point I witnessed Warrington Wolves number 13 Josh McGuire use unacceptable language relating to disability. He was then dismissed from the field.

• The Match Review Panel see no reason to disbelieve the referee.

• Mr Griffiths is clear that he says he witnesses Mr McGuire say the words
