Blimey it's a few years since I have been to Featherstone.
The first time we ever went there we drove right through the place whilst looking for the ground, a fact we only realised when we passed the 'You are now leaving Featherstone-Drive Safely' sign!

Last time I went to Post Office Road Mike Nicholas got sent off in the first minute for attempted murder on Jimmy Thompson!! On his way from the field he waved to the Warrington crowd and after being loudly cheered and applauded stopped and bowed!!................Those were the days!!

There was trouble in the crowd until the coach from the Old Ball arrived just before half time and sorted it!!

It was foggy and rainy and if I remember rightly we won about 12-0

It was an early kick off as they didn't have floodlights in those days!!

I have been there before; I seem to recall Tuuta playing for them, Jonny Roper for us and the players warming up on the car park. Was that the last time we were both in the same league, or a cup match?

its nice and tidy but small. open terracing at both ends - houses back right on to the ground at one end ( thats Post office road) and a couple of decent stands for seating

the main thing you notice is how tiny the pitch is - the Halliwell it most definitely is not in that regard and they know how to play it

Really passionate supporters who hopefully will really turn out in the way Barrow fans did on sunday - Fev will give this is a real go and wont need any motivation

Don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but Iestyn "Judas" Harris plays for them. I'm sure he'll be getting some stick off the travelling fans.

Probabley the league, 95-96 i think, i was at the same game, Andy Currier was playing for us aswell, we got beat 26-8 or something like that.

Nope............Post Office Road. It was famous for its slope.

Thrum Hall didn't have a slope. Or not when I ever went.

I recall Thrum Hall having a massive slope. One of us must have been drinking too much beer.

No wonder we lost.

Probably me...........was getting mixed up with Fartown........was thinking Huddersfield for some reason. I actually played in a 7 a side event at Thrum Hall as well!! Yeah it did slope. Mind you that was 30 years ago!!

I wouldn't be surprised if the two televised games were:

Wakefield v Wigan

and

Featherstone v Warrington

The only reason they will put the St Helens v Catalans game on the telly would be because Mick Potter is up against his old team, but I have a sneaky feeling that we may well be on!!!
