I'm not 100% on this but I'm pretty sure they shut the barriers on that car park at some point. Don't know when sorry. There's a thread on the Saints board about parking if you want some help.

The ground is a ten minute walk from the town centre with various pubs there. If you like real ale then I can recommend The Phoenix pub which is up the road going towards Pilks i.e. the road going away from the town centre from where Cineworld is.
The picture on this link shows the pub looking back towards the junction where Cineworld is (it's about 100m from that junction).

I've heard good things about this place on a match day! Does it still have that sign up about being named pub of the year 2004 or something?!
A popular pub seems to be the Glasshouse, but I assume that's because it's very close to the bridge. Although the service in that place is a joke! |

The Glasshouse is a Weatherspoons and they run with skeleton crews at the best of the times. The Turk's Head is the other really good real ale pub in the town centre but that's a bit further away from the ground than The Phoenix. The Phoenix is usually pretty easy to get served even with a decent crowd in. |

£54.50 for 2 adults, a under 21 and a junior for the saints game. Add that onto Wembley tickets/transport/possible over night stay/food/drinks/petrol it's a lot of money. I'll be there for sure but I can understand why fans have held this one back because of cost. They'll see the game anyway because it's being televised.

That game was different because there was only a three week gap between the semi and the final, and it was a nothing game because our league season was as good as over so Wembley was all anyone had to care about.
This game is huge in my opinion in terms of play off position, and it's also our first visit to Langtree Park and possibly our first win in St Helens for about two decades if we can do it. Unmissable. |
