Play something like 4 fringe players, perhaps Ormsby, Philbin, Wilde, Evans. Build a healthy lead by half time to take the spirit out of Oldham, then withdraw key players such as Clark, Hill, Gidley.

Think that would be my game plan.

After TS's comments about westwood 'playing sore' I don't think he'll be in the side.

I agree Chaz, no disrespect to Oldham, but, let's get on top and control the game time of our 'big' players, a half hour run out for Clark, Hill, Gidley especially if it's on the front foot could be just as effective as a week off.

They beat us and we had our strongest side available out that's how bad we were but they are part time and it should be a stroll for you with half your team rested

KR are a much different proposition with Kelly and Campasee

They beat Fev today, so that's four wins in their last five games all against "better" opposition than them. I think they like to be underdogs.

I've got some good mates who are Oldham fans and are very excited about the game.

From the sounds of things we've only got 19 uninjured players at the moment, 18 if Lineham still isn't okay, so deciding who to play doesn't seem particularly relevant!

Does anyone know if there is TV coverage of the Oldham game or which radio stations will broadcast it ? I can'.t get there this week.Thanks in advance !

Many people's idea of resting a few is actually to play the same players but in completely random positions. Currie, Westerman in the halves? Russell at hooker? Come on, these are recipes for disaster.

We would be better promoting a young half back from the academy and playing him alongside first teamers in their normal position rather than shifting everyone about.

If we don't have lads who can step up, play the first-choice 17. They will have had a 9-day turnaround anyway, with a full week until the next game, so they shouldn't be burned out.

Which half back would you promote then considering Patton is injuired? Westerman has played half back before. Who would you play at hooker instead of Clark?

We're playing Oldham not Melbourne. If we can't beat them whilst rotating our squad we're in trouble.

I don't know who is available and ready from the reserves, but, the last sentence of your post could just as well apply to Browny's strategy?

We're missing Johnson, Hughes, Atkins (presumably, didn't he break his finger too?) and Ben Evans might not be fit enough. Also do we know how Lineham is, since he went to hospital?

I'd prefer Westerman at hooker and try Morgan Smith in the halves though, at least it's the right position.

My minions tell me that Morgan Smith will be getting a gig on Saturday.

I would expect a lot of positional changes as the game goes on, but can see one or two big names playing, Clark almost has to with the Dwyer injurry, but as soon as the game is comfortable (hopefully) he will come off. Same for Sims, Westerman and Ratchford.

There was a joint training session U19s, Reserves and First Team this week which I dare say was to feed into the team selection. The Reserves are also playing tonight at St Helens.

In all three teams there isn't a great deal of cover for 6, 7, 9 and 13 but I sincerely hope they don't send out a team with too many changes as they could end up with egg on their faces against a confident Oldham side.

I would expect maybe Harris, Livett and Murray (if BEvans isn't fully fit) to be in with a chance of playing on Saturday. Ormsby is a given. Shame that Patton isn't available as his chances may be limited this season.

I'm not up to speed on the reserves or u-19s nowadays, but would expect the following "first" teamers to play - Penny, Evans, Ormsby, Gidley, Sims, Clark, Westerman, Cox, Philbin, Wilde, Ratchford.
