| The away game atmosphere aint gone. Think away games are better . More atmosphere and singing. IMO people who go to the game should be happy to hear the fans sing and backing the team. The crowd scene hasnt changed much since Ive been going(about 20 years). Its a family game and the kids have always gone and messed about( even at wilderspool). I know they can be a pain in the but youll prob find if you ask them to be quite or stop messing they will. Everyone is different thats what makes the world go round. Maybe we should start a thread for ' ban the boring farts that dont want to sing'. Dont forget all those your moaning about help pay the players wages so had a hand in our Challange Cup Win. Wonder if the football supporters on this site moan this much about the singing and chavs at the footie match??

| I dont think its the songs, its the people who come to the game and do everythong but watch rugby.Last year i sat in north stand for most of the games. The atmossphere was poor,i had a family in front of me who brought sandwhiches, cans of pop, crisp. It was like teddies bear picnic.I was too embrassed to get out of my seat and give COME ON YOU WIRES without the fear of being frowned upon.

WARRINGTON ARE THE TEAM TO FOLLOW

THE BEST LITTLE HALF BACKS WE KNOW
Kind of works and its a very catchy tune. We definitely need new songs as the ones started by the drummers are boring, tedious, lack imagination and make us look small time. In fact i think the drums should be dropped in favour of just communal singing.

Football allegiances play no part in our support of the wire. the song has no football references in it at all and in anycase it is much better than the crap that those drummers come up with - mind numbing durge.

| It's a reworded Everton song. End of. I know loads of clubs sing variations but those words are Everton's with the names changed.
I do agree the tune is better than the monotonous dross of the drums so come up with better words and I won't argue...

| The above song is what they sing for Mikel Arteta, "The best little Spaniard we know". It is obviously more recent that the, "United are going to Glasgow/Moscow/wherever" song you're likely to be thinking of but those words are Everton's.
Perhaps we could just sing The Celtic Song and change Celtic's name to ours like Everton do too.
Or maybe we could do something really radical and actually think of something distinctive of our own that will catch on. Do we have any songmeister's on here?

"Barmy Army", "Wires 'Til I Die", "Der der der der der WIRES" (Carnival du Paris tune), with a few chants of "Easeh Easeh Easeh" thrown in when we score, after the obligatory "We All Hate Widnes" while playing a team a division above them of course.

| anyone familiar with the Madness song Wings of a Dove ? If you slightly mishear the chorus, you might interpret it as "woa-oh woa-oh, Warrington Wolves..... woa-oh woa-oh, Warrington Wolves...." ?? anyone with me? it might work as a potential song. Then again, I'm not keen myself on any references to wolves, much prefering the traditional WIRE as the official nickname. Just a thought.

| Haha I quite like that but I'm also not keen on anything with "Wolves" in it.
In fact, as an aside, in the 12 or 13 years since the club inflicted a Sky Sports Super League nickname upon us has anything chanted EVER had "Wolves" in it?
I acknowledge Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos have worked but in our case surely it's time to drop it.

| Theres a guy at my work (who's originally from darrrrrn sarrrrrff) and he asks me on a weekly basis 'who have the wolves got this week', it just doesn't sound right.
This week to me, the wolves are playing Birmingham, not Harlequins.....

| Yeah I get people who don't really follow RL but know I do asking me about "The Wolves" but among fans the "Wire" nickname is as strong as ever despite the fact it's over a decade since the name change.
I'll admit I always assumed at the time that eventually a new generation of fans would grow up supporting the Wolves rather than the Wire, but there's plenty of kids at the games now who weren't born pre-Super League era and still chant for the Wire because everyone else does. That pleases me greatly but it does highlight the lack of success of the name change.
